Look out 'cause here I come (look out 'cause here I come)
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum (marching on, marching, marching on)
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
"This Is Me" is a song about how someone a transition from being shy to
confident. It starts off with an insecurity, yet she knows she needs to believe in
herself in order to make her dreams come true. Goals are not just to pursue, but it
speaks out for who you really are inside.
The lyrics of this song also tell of the struggle of someone who dared to emerge
to the outside world even though God created them 'a little' different from other
humans. In this song, there are many characters told by humans - people who are
underestimated because the 'shape' is different from other humans. They are
ostracized, ridiculed, reviled, discriminated against because their form is different
from other human beings and most are considered scary.
In the lyrics of This Is Me, they rise from scolding and dare to show that they
are the same as other humans, all humans are the same, all humans deserve to live
well, deserve to feel safe. The rights of every human being are the same, wanting to
live with a sense of security and protection.
Humans are not distinguished from their physical form, but from their nature
and actions towards other humans or their morals. So, don't be afraid to show
yourself, being different is art. Don't want to be ostracized.
