in southeast
asia, and has cooperated in asean eversince. United states was the very first non asean country to name as an ambassador to
asean in 2008, and the most powerful country around the world. So, many scholars and analysts were wondering what could be
the reason or the motive of united states to the asean organization. Since 1997 united states was in cooperating to the asean of
the trade, economic and social development, people to people connections, institutional strengthening, national security, science,

range if cooperation areas across the three community pillars which are the political security, economic and socio-cultural. And
over four decades had been passed, united states continue to be partner with the asean organization.

What could be the possible interest of U.S. in partnership with the ASEAN? Two years after the ASEAN was formed, it
is said that U.S. plan to be partner with the ASEAN. And in the 40 years of partnership, the United States government has

ASEAN member states since 1967 ($48 million in 2015 USD, inflation adjusted) 2. The United States has offered training or
assistance to more than 120,000 entrepreneurs and MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in the ASEAN region over
the past five years. 3. Through YSEALI (Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative), the U.S. has trained and assisted nearly

In 2006, Obama had a press conference saying that he would deepen the relationship between the United States and
ASEAN. And his administration is pursuing an policy of expanding and upgrading their country as well their relationship with the
asea, and has expressed a gratitude to pay more attention and listen carefully to regional issues and work with the organization,
and cooperate on issues of mutual interest. Since the Obama regime, United State has a primarily interest in southeast asia such
as maritime security, the promotion of democracy and human rights, the encouragement of liberal trade and investment regime,
counterterrorism, the combating of illegal trafficking a narcotics and human trafficking and they want to increase the multilateral
dimension of U.S. policy in southeast asia which has been organized along bilateral lines. Which is obviously U.S wants to be on
top, to be the most powerful country as they can see that china is rising its economy and trade investment

Talking for the fact the the Nation of United State really an influencing country where people can gave their opinions if
the regime of U.S result a pleasing impact or just a disintives to the lifestyle among the citizens of a country. Now, however, still
the statement that United State is the most powerful country indeed but the willingness to impels equality, human rights and
repecting dignity. While it is true the United State have a huge contribution of the said organization(ASEAN), How can people be
able to expand its ideas to what are the factors why do the said country have got an iterest in joining ASEAN ?. Although there
are imputations that peoplè use to degrade the involvement of US in ASEAN but the said country did not pay attention on it but
ignore it. The said possible degrades may could be a big problem or barriers in having good relationship in Southeast Asia
Nations, but instead of attending those degrades they stay in pursuing their main purpose to why they are willing to be implicated
in ASEAN.

WhileWhile the ongoing exchange of words about human rights and democracy between Americans Southeast Asians
may include vague threats of trade perisals official US sources, niether the record of US trade policy including towrads China nor
a review of domestic political considetation suggest that these threats ought to be taken very seriously. Apprehension with in the
Southeast Asia business community abmnd agressive official promotion of the "Singapore School" position of Asian democracy
reflected undue concern about possible trade sanctions. Somewhat loss vissible and coherent, but growing up significance , are
contribution to the discourse from non governmental organization and transnational corporations and labor organization.
