I am assessing myself on the critical thinking and problem solving rubric.

I will use my Rate Project to show where I stand on the rubric.

Overall, I am in the proficient category of the rubric based on the following evidence.

● I use appropriate resources to solve complex problems.

I used a wide variety of sources to complete my rate project. I used sheets to collect and store my

data, desmos to graph my data, and google docs to answer the questions being asked and create

my project. Each of these resources helped me to organize my thoughts and data, and complete

the project.

● I ask open-ended questions using higher order thinking skills.

When I needed help I asked questions to Ms. Kent in order to answer the questions that were

being asked. These questions allowed me to use my problem solving skills to further my

knowledge of the information being presented.

● I identify a problem, opportunity, or challenge.

This project allowed me the opportunity to do a project for school while doing something I love.

I was able to listen to music and then track my listening minutes per day which was very

interesting to look at after completing the project.

● I identify patterns, cause/effect relationships and critical indicators.

In the project I was asked to identify many different parts and patterns of the data I collected and

the graph I created. I was asked questions like what could this data be used for, what the area

under the graph means, and find the points on the graph where the slope is positive and negative.

How could you improve and move to the right on the rubric:
I could use more complex platforms to view my data in a different way and I could ask more in

depth questions to further my thinking and advance the final product of my project. If I use these

methods in the future it could help me to move to the right if the rubric and enhance my overall

learning.
