1. Give at least 5 examples of professional and personal qualities of an effective and

efficient teacher.

1. Strong communicators - Good educators are excellent communicators.

Effective communication is essential for teaching, and one may also use it to
overcome phobias.

2. Listening - One of the most vital talents for a teacher is the ability to listen
attentively. Teachers who are great at listening and observing pick up on
what isn't being spoken, such as students' concerns, and can then work with
them to help them develop their abilities and confidence.

3. Collaboration -When you work in education, you're never truly alone.

Working as a teacher typically entails collaborating with paraprofessionals and
teaching assistants to other classroom instructors and school leaders. It's also
crucial to retain an open mind and learn from others in the field.

4. Adaptability- Effective teachers must adapt their teaching approaches to the

age of their students, the resources available, and changing curriculum, practices,
and needs in a continually changing environment.

5. Patience - Working as an educator will put your patience to the test, no matter
what grade level you teach. Patience is one of the most crucial talents to have
as a teacher, whether you're managing classroom behavior, working with
colleagues who hold opposing viewpoints, or sharing student difficulties or
progress with parents.

2. Summarize the excerpts of the Code of Ethics for Professional Teacher in terms of the
role of teacher:

 As a parent

A teacher can gain a better understanding of a student's life condition by speaking

with them. Some of them come from a shattered family, while others are orphaned and live
with relatives. When kids experience challenges or difficulties at school, the teacher, acting
as a second parent, may opt to make a home visit to help them solve the problem. Home
visits also assist teachers in better understanding why students act in specific ways. Some
students will freely tell their instructor about an issue they are having at home. Further,
teachers as second parents shall provide suitable direction to their students. When students
perceive that their teacher values what they do, they are more likely to trust them. Students
spend more time at school than at home. We must instill a sense of security in students and
never allow fear to replace love as your image. In exchange, students should respect their
professors by being disciplined and putting out reasonable effort in their studies; this way,
students can achieve success in their lives while making their parents and teachers happy
with them.

 To his/her profession

Teachers are, without a doubt, the most important people in our society. They
provide children a sense of purpose, prepare them for success as global citizens, and instill a
desire to do well and thrive in life. Today's children will be tomorrow's leaders, and teachers
are essential in preparing a youngster for their future. A good teacher has the power to
transform

people's lives for the better. They provide a support system that is often lacking in the lives
of students. They might serve as an example and motivation to go further and dream larger.
They hold pupils accountable for their accomplishments and failings, and effective
instructors will not allow their gifted students to fall short of their full potential.

 To the Learners

Teachers play a critical influence in the lives of students. As a teacher, it is your

responsibility to bring out the best in your students and inspire them to achieve greatness.
Students are seen as the nation's and humanity's future, and a teacher is seen as a trustworthy
guide for their development. Teachers are responsible for creating a child's future, making
him or her a better human being, in addition to guiding them in academics and
extracurricular activities. A teacher instills in students information, good values, tradition,
modern-day issues, and solutions to them. Students benefit from having an excellent teacher.

 Explain in your own words the four pillars of education. Cite examples for each
pillar.

1. Learning to be - it is the all-around development of the whole person, to fulfill

his/her highest potential, and be able to think, decide and act independently.

Example: After a certain class, Andrea decided to join in an art club to

develop her skills in drawing.

2. Learning to know - helps with the knowledge and information needed to work
in a globalized, information society and knowledge economy, and the tools for
learning how to learn and to independently acquire knowledge.

Example: If you give students a problem or puzzle and they become

curious or even intrigued, you know that you have created situational interest that
will drive them to find out the answer.

3. Learning to live together - involves the development of social skills and

values such as respect and concern for others, social and inter-personal skills and
an appreciation of the diversity of the world.

Example: Teacher Jade, is showing the students a video wherein the

people from different countries are helping one another in times of calamity.

4. Learning to do - it involves the acquisition of skills that are often linked to

occupational success, such as computer training, managerial training and
apprenticeships.

Example: Dave wants to acquire more knowledge and skills in utilizing

computer software such as Adobe Photoshop, so he enrolls in computer system
servicing.

1. Discuss the characteristics of a teacher as a facilitator of learning.

The role of the instructor is changing because of intelligent and active learning
approaches,. Teachers nowadays serve as learning facilitators. Teaching and learning are being
changed as a result of educational advances. In the twenty-first century, their job as educators
has evolved. They are no longer the source of all knowledge in the classroom; instead, they are
the educators who inspire students to take responsibility for their learning. Teachers are
increasingly assisting in providing opportunities for pupils to master key concepts and discover
the numerous learning tools they require to become lifelong learners.

Teachers must strive to make learning more engaging and participatory to learn and
comprehend more effectively. Teachers can use the following strategies to become successful
mentors:

 Teachers must lead their mentees by showing them what is possible and encouraging
them to pursue their goals. Mentors can also assist their students with career advice if
necessary.

 Teachers must encourage students to perform well outside of their comfort zones, as
change is the only constant, and students must learn to adapt to changing environments
and work outside of their comfort zones.

 When students become demotivated due to their failures, teachers can help them by
motivating them, instilling a good attitude in them, and encouraging them to continue
pursuing their goals.
