1.What other responsibilities do teachers have?

Being a teacher can refer to a variety of attributes and serve a variety of goals. They are
role models who inspire and motivate students to achieve their goals and see the best in
themselves. In the day-to-day teaching world, teachers have a variety of duties and
responsibilities. There is no proper structure or explicit instruction without roles and
duties. We'll look at some of the functions and responsibilities of a teacher in this section. Below
are some of the responsibilities of a teachers:

Role in Maintaining Relations

The teacher's responsibility is to establish positive relationships with the students, their
parents, and the broader public. The teacher may organize a parent-teacher organization for this
reason. Can solve many problems by having a good relationship with your parents. The teacher's
relationships with the headmaster and his colleagues must be healthy and amicable. All of this
necessitates that the teacher is personable.

Role Model for Students

Teachers serve as adult role models for pupils in pre-kindergarten and elementary school.
At the secondary school level, teachers can significantly impact students' development of
positive attitudes and actions. Students learn just as much from teachers' words as they do from
their actions. Student-teacher interactions are vital at the high school level as well. When
students are having academic, social, or emotional problems, they frequently seek the advice of

their professors. Teachers have the job of instilling a positive attitude toward learning in their
students, not just for today but for the rest of their lives.

It is impossible to articulate or express the element of teaching; we can only experience
it. You will gradually improve your capacity to listen to pupils and transmit a genuine concern
for their education to them. How you express your worry will be determined by your personality,
strengths, and educational background. Many elements influence teachers' cognitive processes,
including the curriculum, the community, the school administrator, and personal theories and
attitudes about teaching. More importantly, teaching is a two-way street. Teachers' actions are
influenced not just by their thoughts but also by their students' responses and behaviors before,
during, and after each class. This dynamic and multifaceted encounter enhances the
distinctiveness of the educational experience.

Ethics specifically on Articles IV,VI,VIII and XII. Cite sample situations in each mentioned
articles.

Article IV - THE TEACHER AND THE PROFESSION

It means to ensures that teaching is the noblest profession. Uphold the highest standards
of quality education. Also, to participate in the continuing Professional Education program, to
help if duly authorize, seek support for the school and use the teaching profession to make it
dignified means for earning a decent living. Lastly, it may seek correctives for what may appear
to be on unprofessional and unethical conduct of any associate.

Example:

department to regularly (every Monday) not to meet with classes. Also, during class hours, he
usually uses the time to chat with the students and doesn’t prepare for his lectures; instead, he
will let the students read their books and understand each topic on their own without any
discussions.

Article VI - THE TEACHER AND HIGHER AUTHORITIES IN THE PROFESSIONS

It means to make an honest effort to understand and support the legitimate policies of the
school and the administration, make no false accusation or charges against superiors, especially

that appointments, promotions, and transfer of teachers are made only based on merit and need in
the interest of service, and live up to his contractual obligations assuming full knowledge of the
employment terms and conditions.

Example:

Licensed teachers Athena, Vanessa and Elena (not their real names) came from Northern
Luzon to expose their school principal, who allegedly asked for money in exchange for being
granted teaching items or permanent positions.

In April 2012, the three teachers applied for teaching positions in the said public school.
They resigned from the private schools where they used to teach and obtained their requirements.

Article VIII - TEACHERS AND LEARNERS

Being a teacher means accepting this challenge of disciplining kids without inflicting
pain physically or emotionally. A teacher should always know how to deal with her emotions
and hold them back even if her students go out of hand. Hurting them doesn't do any good for
them. They might just be traumatized or even be rude to all teachers for having one bad
experience. As

a teacher, you are responsible not only for your action but for your student's future. You have to
lead them to a brighter future.

On July 1, 2011, in Cebu City, Philippines, a Grade one student, John Ariel Dugaduga,
was allegedly hit and wounded by a broom in Manggaco Elementary School in Ginatilan town.
In a TV interview, Josefita Lopez claimed that she threw a broom after being annoyed by her
student but landed on her student’s head. She apologized, but the grandmother of the victim, but
Mrs. Paviana Dugaduga pursued the complaint against the teacher.

Provincial Schools Superintendent Arden Monisit was instructed by DepEd 7 Director

Recaredo Borgonia to investigate the case for 48 hours. Mr. Monisit said that case were usually
settled in the school.

Article XII - DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

Teachers must uphold the highest moral and decency standards. There is no moral
polarization. A teacher must be exceptional in both his professional and personal behavior. He
must freely and voluntarily accept limits on his behavior that ordinary individuals may find
obnoxious. To put it another way, teachers' conduct in and out of the classroom must be above
reproach.

Example:

Rene Puse  is a registered professional teacher stationed at S. Aguirre Elementary School,

East District, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte, while Ligaya Puse  is a barangay rural-health
midwife assigned at the Municipal Health Office of Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte.

It appears that on January 10, 1992, Rene married Ligaya at the Municipal Trial Court
(MTC) of Daet, Camarines Norte. He had two children with her, and had a church wedding
before respondent found out that petitioner was already married. Ligaya discovered that Rene
had previously married  a certain Cristina Pablo Puse at the MTC in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, on
December 27, 1986. Ligaya, likewise, learned that Rene has already two children with his first
wife. Thus, on August 2, 2005, Ligaya filed a letter-complaint with the director of the PRC,
National Capital Region, Manila, through the director, the PRC, Lucena City, seeking assistance
regarding Rene, against whom she had filed a criminal case for “bigamy” and “abandonment.”
Ligaya alleged, among others, that Rene has not been giving her and their children support.
