Social Networking Sites (SNSs) have acquired increasing popularity in the last decade,
with individuals engaging in SNSs to stay connected, share ideas and informations and have
interaction with others who share similar interests.In the present year, according to wenninger
(2016), virtual life experiences can blind a person the essence of human contact one needs
for physical, psychological and social well being. The more time user spent using SNSs
online, the less time user spent with authentic relationships. Social Networking Sites are
actually helping everyone to extend their relationships both virtually and realistically.
However, it can also drift apart from their love ones by slowly getting symptoms that can
change the entire person’s personality and behavior. It is still unclear whether some of the
changes brought by SNSs may afffect certain normal aspects of human behavior and cause
psychiatric disorders. In an article by Pantic l et al.(2014), prolonged use of SNSs may be
related to signs and symtoms of depression. This in turn was supported by Kuss DJ et al.
(2017), the biological drive of a person to be online may result in compulsive use of SNSs,
which in worst cases may result in symtoms and consequences associated with substance-
related addictions and anxiety, that tends to lose an individual’s actual social interaction and
only communicate through messages; some even had an anxiety and feel frustrated if one’s
Internaet access mobile devises has been taken away or lose connection and signal.
