HOME ECONOMICS ROOM
By definition, home economics is “the art and science of home
management,” meaning that the discipline incorporates both
creative and technical aspects into its teachings.
The essential mission of home economics classes was to prepare
students for the skills that they would need outside of academic
and professional spheres. The information that home economics
classes would provide would make students more self-sufficient
and capable of taking on the world.
Home economics room is responsible for students learning how to
cook, how to do taxes, and how to perform child care tasks.
They can perform activities about Home management, Foods
and Nutrition and Clothing, Textile and other related arts.
1st Floor
Living Room : This mini living room would serve as an area
where students can rest, read books, role play or practice
doing household chores.
Dining Area : An area where they can prepare snacks, cook
simple meals, practice food preparation and table etiquettes
and make table designs.
Bedroom : can be used for resting and for room management
and services activities.
Bathroom : for proper hygiene activities and grooming
2nd Floor
Sewing Room : Includes sewing machines, textiles, threads and
needles, fabrics, coat racks and drawing board that can be
used for students who wants to design or sew any garments
or clothes they want. Sewing classes and fashion studies can
be conducted in this room
Kitchen : An area where they can cook different dishes or even
experiment new recipes. They can also bake, grill, steam and
etc. variety of dishes. They can also make frozen foods or even
drinks.
General Building Policies
The Home Economics Room is a public facility open to students,
faculty, staff, alumni, and guests of the School/University. The
principal and the HE/TLE Teacher reserves the right to establish
policies for use of the HE Room by various types of groups
and/or individuals. General authority for the establishment of
policies is the responsibility of the Director in consultation with
members of the Administrative Council. Failure to comply with
any policies or guidelines outlined in this Policy Manual and/or
any requests by HE Room personnel may result in action by the
staff to deny privileges, refer to proper authorities, and/or
assess appropriate charges.
Operating Policies
• Operating hours every school days is 8:00am-6pm
• HE Teachers and HE Room staff are allowed to possess the keys of
this building.
• Cleanliness is the top priority of this building. Proper hygiene and
sanitation must be practiced every time. Clean and organize the
equipment, utensils and areas that are used before leaving the HE
Room.
• Any persons responsible for any acts of damage, theft vandalism
to the premises, or removal of items from the HE Room will be
referred to the appropriate authorities and will be given sanctions
according to their offense.
• For health and safety reasons, all persons entering the HE Room
must wear proper attire and uniform.
Operating Policies
• There is no smoking permitted in any location inside the HE Room.
• Animals are not permitted in the HE room.
• The channels and volume levels may be changed by asking the HE
Teachers.
• The furniture and equipments in any of the spaces in the HE Room
may not be moved or removed without the permission of the
Director. Notification of furnishings being brought into the building
is required.
• The Staff and school authority are committed to the safety and
security of all persons in the building and has developed
appropriate emergency procedures.
