The table given illustrates that the money spent on Fairtrade coffee and bananas in two separate
years (in 1999 and in 2004) in the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden respectively.

Overall, sales from both coffee and bananas in 2004 were by far the highest level in the UK. It is
clear that the revenues from the two products rose between 1999 and 2004, while the opposite was
true for the figures for bananas in Belgium and Sweden.

As for coffee’s turnover, in 1999, Demark earned the highest figure from selling this product with
1.8 million euros, followed by the UK and Sweden. By contrast, in 2004, the highest revenue of
purchasing Fairtrade coffee belonged to the UK, and there was a considerable climb from 1.5 to 20

Sweden spent less money on Fairtrade coffee than other countries in 2004.

With regard to bananas’ sales, the figure for purchasing this product rose threefold from 15 to 47
million euros between 1999 and 2004. While Sweden and Denmark 2004 earned money four times
higher than that they received in 1999 (to 5.5 and 4 respectively), the opposite was true for Belgium
and Sweden that money spent on bananas decreased by 1 million euros over the time period.

Writing Task 2:

Many people advocate that risky sports ought to be prohibited by governments, while the opponents
of this idea believe that people have the right to take part in any sports activities if they want. In my
opinion, I support the latter view and indicate the reasons to explain my opinion in this essay.

On the one hand, there are two reasons to explain that why the governments should forbid
hazardous sports. Firstly, unexpected situations happen in extreme sports activities, players may get
seriously injured or even get killed. For example, racing is an extremely dangerous sport. If you
imagine that player had to more than 170 kilometres per hour in either a vehicle or a motorcycle.
The chances of surviving that are pretty low. On top of that, the fuel could ignite, and then you’ll be
burned to death. Secondly, many risky sports such as boxing represent violence, this action through
these sports may encourage aggressive thoughts and behaviours of viewers, especially young
children. Many young people do not realize that dangerous sports are just a form of entertainment.
In real life, instead of peacefully resolving conflicts, young people will tend to imitate actions such
as punching or kicking through boxing tournaments.

On the other hand, dangerous sports effectively help players and the audience release stress. Playing
sport has many positive impacts on mental health, regardless of how dangerous they are, and brings
a sense of achievement whenever they reach the mountain to people. Through sports activities,
people have a great deal of time for their family and these activities can help them to strengthen
their family ties. Besides, sports activities have a useful effect on people’s well-being. Some sports
can help people avoid a sedentary lifestyle and enhance their immune systems. Instead of having
our eyes glued to the screen on a mobile phone or laptop, people can take part in sports activities.
This way can assist you to improve the sleep patterns and have an ideal body.

In conclusion, although risky sports have a detrimental effect on both mental and physical health,
people should have a right to participate in any sports providing that they are well-prepared.
