Description: - Kopthione 40%FPS is a stable extremely low particle size aqueous dispersion of Zinc
pyrithione for the complete protection of all types of paints and coatings from all types of microbial attack.
Kopthione 40 FPS has broad spectrum of efficacy against algae, bacteria and fungi.

Product Information

Application and Recommended Dosage: -

Kopthione 40% FPS is highly recommended for the protection against fungal attack on interior coating /
paints. For complete control of algae on Exterior painted surfaces and façades use of Diuron along with
Kopthione 40%FPS is highly recommended. Kopthione 40% FPS offers good wet state protection
against bacterial spoilage, however it is advised to carry in house experiments to rule-out use of
additional in-can preservative. Optimum use concentrations will depend on the required properties
Normal addition levels are in the range 1 to2.5%.

Handling of Kopthione 40% FPS: -

Where direct handling is necessitated, personnel should always wear protective clothing. This will include
a rubber apron, suitable impervious full-length gloves and footwear. Protective chemical splash goggles
should also be worn.

Addition and compatibility: -

For optimum and uniform mixing Kopthione 40% FPS should be added during the early stages production
preparation preferably after the addition of all extenders of the paint recipe. It is compatible with most
formulations in which its application is recommended. However, users are advised to carry out their own
tests.

Spillage/Disposal: -

Spillages of Kopthione 40% FPS should be absorbed using an inert material such as vermiculite and
transferred to containers for disposal. Spillages should be disposed according to local regulations.
