1st semester AY2122
Ever since the pandemic began, we have always been at war with the heavier challenges
brought by this new normal. Before the first semester kicked off, I felt like a warrior entering
this battle with empty hands. My father became unemployed as the company for which he
works suffered bankruptcy. In turn, my sister became our sole financial provider. Whenever
she works from home during weekdays, we always have to give way to each other when it
comes to our old and only laptop. It was extremely difficult to work on school tasks without
using an ideal gadget, and I knew that it was harder for my sister to do her job using their
company’s phone only. The moment the reality of our situation dawned on me, I realized
that I must help my sister with the most I can do. I didn’t want to give her a harder time
whenever she works, since her, providing for our family during these trying times is more
than enough already. And during that moment, when I was full of fears and uncertainty on
how I will face college in this online set-up, CSupport lent a hand. Through their donation
drive, and with the help of all the people who kindly contributed, I became one of their
laptop beneficiaries. I will always be grateful for the help that I received, and this grant truly
enabled me to further my education. I know that through CSupport, more students who are
being held back by their struggles during this online learning will be given help and
assistance so that they can continue carrying on. As the second semester nears, I hope that
more people will support the drive. Kindness, after all, sparks a light that gives a hopeful
glow for those who live with the flickers of fear and struggles.

Testimonies from
CSupport Beneficiaries
I couldn't be any grateful to the College of Science Student Council for
accepting me as one of the beneficiaries of their CSupport program. Having
experienced online schooling for roughly two years now, I know how costly it is
to attend synchronous classes and accomplish asynchronous requirements,
especially for us who don’t have a stable Wi-Fi connection. Hence, as the
school year started, I was worried about whether I'd be able to fund my load
consumption weekly. Fortunately, the council has been generous enough to
assist me in such a need. Through the CSupport program, I personally
witnessed how tight-knit the UP family is, despite its size, as students,
teachers, and other donors are willing to go an extra mile to ensure that no
scholar is left behind. Currently, I'm halfway through the semester, and the
load grant has sustained me all throughout. Hence, although I know the next
few years of my college education would be tough, I could rest in the
confidence that our socioeconomic status cannot stand in the way between
us and our dreams because helping hands abound in the UP community.

During the online learning set-up, I have faced Online learning has been a rough
