SWOT
France was ranked third in the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Index, with an entrepreneurial
environment that seeks to make life easier for entrepreneurs. In 2016, only 3.5 days were
needed to found a company in France, compared with 4.5 in the United Kingdom and 10.5
in Germany. In surveys, more than a third of French people say they would like to start up
their own business.
Entrepreneurship in France is on the rise. The results of the latest BNP Paribas-OpinionWay
“The French and business” survey show that nearly half of French people (45%), and the
younger generation in particular, are attracted by the idea of becoming an entrepreneur in
what they see as a more business-friendly environment.
One of France’s key strengths lies in the low business costs it offers foreign
companies. According to KPMG’s Competitive Alternatives 2016 survey, total business
operating costs were 9.5% lower in France than in the United States.
Nationals from the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland,
graduates of the French higher education system, can freely start a company in France.
Nationals of other countries must have an Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour (APS -
temporary residency permit), to be able to create a company in France.
According to the Ernst & Young G20 Entrepreneurship Barometer report 2013, it's easier
to start up business in France than most other G20 countries: it's cheaper, there are fewer
steps, and it takes less time.
The starting up prices are about 550 euros. This is a major saving, however you will be

France is one of the most powerful economies in the world and it's only getting stronger. It
provides generous tax incentives for new companies and financial help to startups, making
it an attractive place to start and run a business. So, starting a business in the jewel of
Europe is a no-brainer.

Bicycles are legal traffic. They must be on the street with traffic and ride in the direction of
traffic. If there is a bicycle path, you must use it and not ride on the street or road with
traffic
Germany has finally passed a new law for bicycles and e-bikes. The new rules adapt to the
current technological status quo and support people who ride a DYU E-Bike to participate in
road traffic without additional certifications.
I understand why German cyclists are dis-satisfied with their cycle paths. The quality
obviously varies from one place to another, but in many cases they're simply not built with
anything like the quality that is required to ensure the safety and convenience of cyclists.
However, they have made a mistake in criticizing all cycle-paths.
Despite its advantages, Germany also presents significant hurdles when launching
a business there. ... It ranks 125 out of 190 economies for “Starting a Business” by the
World Bank Doing Business Report for 2020, largely because of Germany's complex
bureaucratic requirements.
Income tax
As a German resident, you must pay income tax (Einkommensteuer). The income from your
business is also taxed.
