Introduction
This dataset was acquired as a resource from the KPMG Data Analytics Virtual Experience Program.
Sprocket Central Pty Ltd, a medium sized company that sells bikes & cycling accessories. Primarily,
Sprocket Central Pty Ltd needs help using its large dataset to optimize its marketing strategy. The
dataset contains three separate tables that were imported into Microsoft Power BI separately. The
tables are

● Customer Demographic
● Customer Addresses
● Transactions data (past 3 months)

The main Flat table, Transaction Table contains 19641 Rows with 13 Columns.

A data quality framework was used to access the accuracy of the dataset and forms the basis of the data
cleansing tasks that were performed on the dataset. To improve the quality of Sprocket Central Pty Ltd’s
data we used the following quality framework

Business Intelligence Questions

The selected dataset has detailed information of the type of patients admitted, diagnosis and
treatments undergone, cost and length of stay, thus the primary objective of this report is to anlayse the
type and nature of patients admitted, identify the parameters affecting the length of stay and predict
the length of stay of patient using power BI tool.

This report addresses following questions.

● What is the total death burden by disease type?

● What is the distribution of disease type by state?
● What states have the highest deaths by meningitis?
● What is the distribution of meningitis cases by age?
● What is the distribution of meningitis deaths by age?
● What is the distribution of meningitis deaths by gender?
● What is the distribution of meningitis deaths by serotype?
● What is the distribution of meningitis death by state?
 ● Which age category were more likely to survive meningitis?
● Was there a correlation between settlement type and death by meningitis?

Loading Data
Microsoft Power BI is as software was used to Load and the dataset for the purpose of analysis and
visualization. On startup, Power BI opens up a dialog box to load or Get data. This is shown below:

For this project, the KPMG dataset was loaded, the dataset is in excel format. This is done by clicking on

the “Get Data” menu, then select excel option. This is shown below in the following fig:

After selection of the excel file, there was a dialog pop up that gives option to load or transform the
dataset. The dataset was loaded by clicking on the load
