INFORMATIVE SPEECH TEMPLATE

(Describing chart[s] and/or graph[s])

Name: NURUL AIN ANEESA BINTI ZALMI Topic: THE CAUSE OF EXOPHORIA

Student ID: 2020834114 Group: KBA2493A

This exercise requires you to provide an outline for your informative speech by filling in the following
template.

The outline of your speech should include:

• introduction,
• description and analysis of chart(s) and/or graph(s), conclusion and recommendation.

In this exercise, you need to choose at least one chart and/or graph related to your topic. Describe
the important data (facts and figures) and the salient features of the data from the chosen chart(s)
and/or graph(s). You are also required to choose at least one article related to your topic. Select
relevant information from the chosen article(s) to provide some supporting information for the data.

Introduction

Introduce topic
Have you ever heard about exophoria?

-Exophoria is part of squinting but it quite unique.

-Exophoria is rarely because sometimes it can be seen, sometime this type of squinting
never been seen because it happens so quickly and hard to realise it.

Credibility Experience

Background of I did this title because I personally experienced this exophoria problem when I did an
topic eye exam. The impact I would say is the impact that happened to me. So, I want to
spread awareness about exophoria so that listeners know that squints like this actually
exist.

Central Idea The cause of Exophoria happen:

I. Eye muscle weakness

II. Too much fatigue
Body
(Describing chart[s] and/or graph[s])
I. Description of
data 1. Like the point I mentioned earlier the first cause of exophoria to occur is an eye
muscle weakness.
(Chart 1)

2. This muscle weakness occurs when near vision happens over a long period of time
because the eyes require movement. This condition causes pressure on the eyes
and the eye muscles to become weak.
3 It can cause our eyes drift outward or one eye drift away from the others out of
. our control and the unique about exophoria is it will appear in 2 @ 3 seconds only.

Analysis of data 4 Exophoria is not a serious condition and can be treated with some eye exercises.
. This exercise will help our eyes improve vision and high concentration and we can
(Chart 1) avoid lazy eyes.

5 This exercise only requires a pen and also a hand. This exercise requires a lot of
. concentration where we need to focus on numbers or simple sentences for us to
focus. The time taken for this exercise is also not long only 2-3 minutes.

II. Description of 1. The next cause of exophoria occurs when the eye condition to much fatigue.

This chart shows that the percentage of children in example, 55% who get
exophoria is higher than that of adults 45%. Although the percentage is not too far
between children and adults but the children are still at risk for it if not taken care
of at an early stage. Let me give an example, this current situation of Covid-19 has
forced us to work and study from home. This situation has caused us to have to
look at the screen for a long time because we have to work and learn in
cyberspace. So, for children they will use gadget every day because they have
online distance learning and it will make the chances of getting exophoria are very
high.
3. These circumstances cause the eye condition to be too much fatigue and may get
some adverse effects such as headaches.
Analysis of data 4. Next, when eyes are too tired, it will cause us to see an object and read something
in a state of double vision-double vision is the main symptom of exophoria when
(Chart 2) we are in a state of very tired.
5. This will make us become uncomfortable and possibly have difficulty in doing
something due to not being able to focus fully because of the discomfort that
occurs in the eyes.
Conclusion

Conclusion In conclusion, this eye condition is not a serious condition and can be recovered
through eye exercises that I have shown a moment ago to strengthen the eye muscles.
However, it is necessary to get monitoring from an ophthalmologist to ensure the true
condition of the eyes.

Recommendatio Yet I also recommend especially to parents to bring their children for eye examinations,
n because according to the current situation children are overly exposed to screens that
can cause their eyes to become myopic. And this is one of the early ways for us to
prevent and maintain eye health. Therefore, I hope that my speech brings awareness
to take care of our eyes even it is not dangerous but if we do not take action, it maybe
has a bad effect. So, thank you for listening my speech
