R-Link update from 2.2.X to 3.3.16.

The shortest way to update your R-LINK 2 from 2.2.X to 3.3.16.961 is to download a preparied software. I
done this and you will find the download link in next tutorial. I will integrate in Renault official guide.

Before you start: Find a USB stick in FAT 32 format (8GB-32 GB)

To check if your USB stick is in FAT 32 format access its properties (example: right

click on PC/ properties).

Step 1: Download the software

Unzip and “Extract” the file you have downloaded. You can use 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to do this.
Password is gill_ro . Then copy the R-LINK folder onto the USB key at the root. Keep the R-LINK folder

exactly as it is. Do not rename the folder nor install the software in another location on

the USB stick.

Step 3: View the downloaded file on your USB stick

The folder may contain several files. You can open the folder to check the software has been

correctly copied.
Step 4: Install the software on your R-LINK 2

Switch on the engine and your R-LINK 2 system. Plug in your USB stick. The software on your

USB stick will be automatically detected. Please keep the engine running while the

software installs. It can take up to 10 minutes.

After installation be patient. R-LINK will restart and the black screen will can take up some minutes. After
this you you have 3.3.16.961 software!

For activation of Android Auto in developer mode

1. Find a blank USB stick in FAT 32 format. Create a folder called DEBUG, and in this folder create an
empty file called DbgEnable.lge . You cand can use this link to download the folder with file.

2. Go to Menu> Multimedia>Settings> Photos

3. Insert the USB stick and wait few seconds to recognise USB stick

4. Now you have to press in the black square that you see on the screen

(below the two menu items) in the following order: 1 time in the upper

left corner (leave at least 1 sec between presses) and tap at least 12

times in the lower right corner (stay within the rectangle) . You are now in developer mode.

5. Activation of mirrorlink: Select DiagRW -> GEN2_0 - put SPVR from restricted to permitted -> press
Save (in top of page) -> press Load (in top of page) - go back to first page with back button.

6. To activate Android Auto enable Android Auto Projection and Ethenet ADB for CarPlay(CarPlay will
not work). Press back button.

7. After this I recomand you to do a restart. For this you must to pret long the power button of R-LINK.
R-LINK will restart and the black screen will can take up some minutes.
Now you have 3.3.16.961 with Android Auto!
