Suggest + V-ing … (gợi ý) Eg. “Why don’t we all go for a drive in the country?” She suggested that we should all go for a drive in the country.
6. Insist + on + V-ing … (khăng khăng)
Eg. “I must, I simply must see the manager at once!” She insist on seeing the manager at once.
7. Beg + (sb) + (not) + to + Vo … (cầu xin)
Eg. “Please, please, don’t tell anyone you’ve seen me!” She begged me not to tell anyone I had seen her.
8. Confirm + that + S + V … (xác nhận)
Eg. “That’s right. Your flight’s taking off at midnight.” She confirmed that my flight was taking off at midnight.
9. Remind + (sb) + to + Vo … (nhắc nhở)
Eg. “Don’t forget to bring the binoculars, will you?” She reminded me to bring the binoculars.
10. Estimate + that + S + V … (ước tính)
Eg. “I imagine Mexico City has about 20 million inhabitants by now, but I could be wrong.” She estimated that Mexico City had about 20 million inhabitants.
11. Point out + that + S + V … (biết)
Eg. “It’s five o’clock already, you know. She pointed out that it was five o’clock already.
12. Agree + to + Vo … (đồng ý)
Eg. “Yes, that’s fine. I’ll be able to help.” She agreed to help.
13. Assure + (sb) + that + S + V … (đảm bảo)
Eg. “Don’t worry, there’ll be no difficulty, believe me. She assured me that there would be no difficulty.
14. Thank + (sb) + for + V-ing … (cảm ơn)
Eg. “How kind of you to bring me the flowers!” She thanked me for bringing the flowers.
15. Advise + (sb) + to + Vo … (khuyên)
Eg. “If I were you, I’d keep it under my hat.” She advised me to keep it under my hat.

Eg. “And another thing, there’ll be a 2% surcharge.” She added that there would be a 2% surcharge.
17. Deny + V-ing … (phủ nhận)
Eg. “I didn’t do it! I didn’t rob the old lady!” She denied robbing/having robbed the old lady.
18. Refuse + to + Vo … (từ chối)
Eg. “No, I’m afraid I’m not prepared to make a speech.” She refused to make a speech.

Eg. “Be careful when you cross the road, won’t you?” She warned me to be careful when I crossed the road.
