What is the Internet?

I think there is no better way to describe the internet than how Britannica did, “a vast network that
connects computers all over the world.” You can reach out to people living on the other side of the
globe and they will get your message in an instant. The internet consists of many things such as:

 Websites

 Apps

 Web bowsers

 Social media

 etc.

The internet can also be used for evil (visit pg.7) so you have to be careful in what you
search/message. Although it is used for many bad, bad things it can also help the world be a less
stressful place. You can also share pictures and events that have happened in your past.

What can you do online?

Here is a list of things you can do online:

 Send/receive emails
 Search for things in search engines
 Interact with people via social media
 Watch movies
 Listen to current radio stations
 Go shopping
You can do many things online but one of the
most useful and widely used feature is sending
emails and chatting. Many people use it for
business but teens like me use it to contact
friends and family. It had made the world work

How to be safe online?

The internet can be very dangerous so examples of how to be safe on it is key to knowing what to in
any shady situation:

 Don’t click on any random links because they could potentially be a threat to your computer
because people on the internet will do anything to get your personnel information that’s why
you should always get a stable anti-virus

 Never believe people that say your computer or system is damaged because they are only
trying to take money from you by telling you about a problem with your computer and they will

fix it but for a fee, but if you are ever curious or worried that your computer actually has
something wrong with it contact a professional to check it out

 Never post personal information about yourself on social media because it will only bring you trouble
because people will find your small hints of information and find out your whole lifes worth of
