EVOLUTION OF WEB
What is Web? - The Web or World Wide Web (W3), is basically a system of Internet that support
specially formatted document.
WEB 1.0 - Static Web Page - is known as flat page or stationary page in the sense that the page is
“as is” and cannot be manipulated by the user. The content is also the same for all the users.
WEB 2.0 - Dynamic Web Page - is the evolution of Web 1.0 by adding dynamic web pages - the user
is able to see a website differently than others. Web 2.0 allows users to interact with the page.
The term was coined by the inventor of the World Wide Web (WWW), Tim Berners-Lee. He also noted
that the Semantic Web is a component for web.
- COMPATIBILITY, HTML files and current web browsers could not support Web 3.0.
- SECURITY, user’s security is also in question since the machine is saving his or her preferences.
- VASTNESS, The WWW already contains billions of web pages.
- VAGUENESS, certain words are imprecise. The words “old” and “small” would depend on the user.
- LOGIC, there are certain limitations for a computer to be able to predict what the user is referring to
at a given time.
WEB 4.0 Mobile Web - connects all devices in the real and virtual world in real-time.
WEB 5.0 Symbiotic Web/Emotional - will be about the (emotional) interaction between human and
computers
TRENDS OF ICT - as the world of ICT continues to grow, the industry has focused on several
innovations.
1. Convergence - is using several technologies to accomplish a task conveniently
2. Social Media - a website, application, or online channel that enables web users to create, co-create,
discuss, modify, and exchange user-generated content.
• according to Nielsen, a global information and measurement company, internet users spend more
time in social media sites than in any other type of sites.
3. Mobile Technologies - the popularity of smartphones and tablets has taken a major rise over the
years. Several of these devices are capable of using high-speed internet.
Operating Systems - a system software that manages computer hardware and software resources
and provides common services for computer programs.
- 2G (1991)
- 3G (1998)
- 4G (2008)
- 5G (2020)
*Speedtest Global Index said, Philippines ranks 103rd among 139 countries, in terms of internet
speed.*
4. Assistive Media - non-profit service designed to help those who have visual and reading
impairments. A database of audio recordings is used to read to the user.
NETIQUETTE
- a network etiquette, the do’s and don’ts of online communication
INTERNET
- defined as the information superhighway.
- means that anyone has access to this highway, can place information, and can grab that
information
- a powerful tool, can be used to promote your business, gain new friends, and stay in touch
with the old ones.
- can also a source of entertainment through games, online communities, and everything in
between
INTERNET THREATS
1. Malware - this stands for malicious software
c. TROJAN
• a malicious program that is disguised as a useful program but once downloaded
or installed, leaves your PC unprotected and allows hackers to get your
information.
• It appears useful but damages the system and it requires human action to run,
not self-replicate.
e. Spyware
• a program that runs in the background without you knowing it (thus called “spy”).
It has the ability to monitor what you are currently doing and typing through
keylogging.
• Keyloggers are used to record the keystroke done by the users. This is done to
steal their password or any other sensitive information. It can record email,
messages, or any information you type using your keyboard.
f. Adware
• It is a program designed to send you advertisements, mostly as pop-ups.
2. Spam - unwanted emails mostly from bots or advertisers. It can be used to send malwares.
3. Phishing - its goal is to acquire sensitive personal information like passwords and credit card
details. This is done by sending you an email that will direct the user to visit a website and be
asked to update his/her username, password, credit card, or personal information.
MICROSOFT POWERPOINT
• A computer software created by Microsoft which allows the user to create slides with
recordings, narrations, transitions, and other features in order to present information. (File
extension: .pptx)
TRANSITION
• Control the way slides move into view
Ways to control the transition effects in powerpoint
1. On click
2. After
TRIGGER
• An object that you click to cause animation to occur on a slide
WORD PROCESSOR
A word processor is a device or computer program that provides for input, editing, formatting and
output of text, often with some additional features.
MICROSOFT WORD OFFICE OR MS WORD
• (Often called Word) is a graphical word processing program that users can type with.
• Its purpose is to allow users to type and save documents. Similar to other word processors and it has
a helpful tool to make documents.
KINDS OF MATERIALS
The Illustration Group menu under the Insert tab showing the kinds of
materials you can integrate with Word 365.
1. PICTURES - Generally, these are electronic or digital pictures or photographs you have saved in any
local storage device. There are three commonly used types of picture files. You can identify them by
the extension on their file names.
a.) JPG This is pronounced as “jay-peg,” and is the short for .jpeg or Joint Photographic Experts
Group. This identifies the kind of data compression process that is uses to make it more compatible
and portable through the internet.
• This type of image file can support 16.7 million colors that is why it is suitable for use when
working full color photographic images.
• It does not support transparency and does not work well on lettering, line drawings, or simple
graphics. .JPG images are relatively small in file size.
b.) GIF This stands for Graphics Interchange Format. This type of image file is capable of
displaying transparencies.
• This type of image file is capable of displaying transparencies and animations.
• This may not be too useful on printed document, but if you are sending documents electronically
or through email, or even post documents into a website, this could be quite impressive.
• GIFs are a series of images or soundless video that will loop continuously and doesn't require
anyone to press play.
c.) PNG This is pronounced as “ping.” It stands for Portable Network Graphics.
• It is also good with transparencies but unlike GIFs, it does not support animation but it can
display up to about 16 million colors.
• This allows the control of the transparency level or capacity of images.
• It is an image type that's commonly used in web design to provide a transparent background
and/or a semi-transparent image.
• PNGs are often used to design logos as the image can be easily placed over a background of a
picture, block of color or pattern.
2. SHAPES - These are printable objects or materials that you can integrate in your document to
enhance its appearance or to allow you to have some tools to use for composing and representing
ideas or messages. If you are designing the layout for a poster or other graphic material for advertising,
you might find this useful.
3. SMARTART - These are predefined sets of different shapes grouped together to form ideas that are
organization or structural in nature. If you want to graphically represent an organization, process,
relationships, or flow for infographic documents, then you will find this easy and handy to use.
4. CHART- This allows you to present data characteristics and trends. This is quite useful when you
are preparing reports that correlate and present data in a graphical manner. You can create charts that
can be integrated in your document either directly in MS Word or imported from external files like MS
Excel.
5. 3D MODELS - 3D models in Office allows users to easily insert 3D models into any PowerPoint,
Word, or Excel file.
6. ICONS - These are the SVG files. SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphic file, which is an image you
can rotate, color, and resize without losing image quality
7. SCREENSHOTS - MS Word provides a snipping tool for your screen shots so you can select and
display only the part that you exactly like to capture on your screen.
TEXT WRAPPING - is a feature supported by many word processors that enables you to surround a
picture or diagram with text.
1. IN LINE WITH TEXT This is the default setting for images that are inserted or integrated
in your document. It treats your image like a text font with the bottom side totally aligned with
the text line.
2. SQUARE This setting allows the image you inserted to be placed anywhere within the
paragraph with the text going around the image in a square pattern like a frame.
3. TIGHT This is almost the same as the Square setting, but here the text “hugs” or conforms
to the general shape of the image.
4. THROUGH It allows the text on your document to flow even tighter, taking the contours
and shape of the image.
5. TOP AND BOTTOM It pushes the text away vertically to the top and/or the bottom of the
image so that the image occupies a whole text line on its own.
6. BEHIND TEXT This allows your image to be dragged and placed anywhere on your
document but with all the text floating in front of it. It effectively makes your image look like a
background.
7. IN FRONT OF TEXT This setting allows your image to be placed right on top of the text as
if your image was dropped right on it. This means whatever part of the text you placed the
image on, it will be covered by the image.
LESSON 5 : ADVANCED SPREADSHEET SKILLS
MICROSOFT EXCEL
• It is a spreadsheet program that can present tables of values arranged in rows and columns that can
be manipulated mathematically using both basic and complex arithmetic operations and functions.
• This provides an automated way of displaying any statistical data.
• It can be used to automatically compute for several factors that are not easy to notice especially when
faced by a large of data.
• This also includes several arithmetic and basic functions that help the user to compute faster.
PARTS OF MS EXCEL
❖ CELL It is an individual rectangular boxes located in central area of a worksheet.
❖ ACTIVE CELL It is recognized by its green outline, data is always entered into the active cell.
❖ SHEET TABS By default is one worksheet in an Excel 2013 file. The tab at the bottom of a worksheet
tells you the name of the worksheet - such as Sheet1, Sheet2, etc.
❖ COLUMN This runs vertically on worksheet and each one is identified by a letter in the column header.
❖ ROW This runs horizontally on a worksheet and each one is identified using number.
❖ NAME BOX This refers to the currently selected cell in a spreadsheet and it can be identified by a
bold (green) outline that surrounds the cell.
❖ FORMULA BAR This displays the contents of the active cell. It can also be used for entering or editing
data and formulas.
❖ NAME BOX It displays the cell reference or the name of the active cell.
❖ FORMULAS These are the instructions for excel to perform calculations. This can be written on the
Formula bar.
Symbol Operation
= Equal to / Division
+ Addition < Less than
- Subtraction > Greater than
* Multiplication
❖ LABELS (text) are descriptive pieces of information, such as names, months, or other identifying
statistics, and they usually include alphabetic characters.
❖ VALUES (numbers) are generally raw numbers or dates.
❖ EQUAL SIGN (=)The format for basic formula normally starts with the equal sign.
❖ RANGE It is a group or block of cells in a worksheet that have been selected or highlighted.
❖ CRITERIA This is a value or label that determines if a cell is part of the range to be averaged.
❖ FUNCTIONS These are the predefined formulas and are already available in Excel.
FUNCTIONS IN EXCEL
• SUM A function used to compute for the summation of the number of a range. =SUM(A2:A8)
• AVERAGE A function used to compute for the average of the number of a range. =AVERAGE(A2:A8)
• COUNT A function used to count the cells with the content in a range. =COUNT(A2:A8)
• MAX A function used to get the largest value from a list of supplied numbers. =MAX(B3:B12)
• MIN A function used to get the lowest value from a list of supplied numbers. =MIN(B3:B12)
• IF This function is used to check whether a condition is met, and returns one value if TRUE and
another value is FALSE. =IF(B2>=75,”PASSED”,”FAILED”)
• COUNTIF A function used to count the cells with a specified content within a range.
=COUNTIF(A2:A8,”YES”)
• SUMIF A function used to count the cells for the summation of a range if a certain condition is met.
=SUMIF(A2:A8,”>=3”)
CONDITIONAL FORMATTING - It is a feature of Excel which allows you to apply a format to a cell or a
range of cells based on certain criteria. A common use of conditional formatting is to highlight values in
a set of data.
DATA VALIDATION is a feature in Excel used to control what a user can enter into a cell and it allows
you to do the following:
✓ Make a list of the entries that restricts the values allowed in a cell.
✓ Create a prompt message explaining the kind of data allowed in a cell.
✓ Create messages that appear when incorrect data has been entered.
✓ Set a range of numeric values that can be entered in a cell.
DATA VALIDATION is implemented via rules defined in Excel's user interface on the Data tab of the
ribbon.
IMPORTANT LIMITATION It is important to understand that data validation can be easily defeated. If
a user copies data from a cell without validation to a cell with data validation, the validation is destroyed
(or replaced). Data validation is a good way to let users know what is allowed or expected, but it is not
a foolproof way to guarantee input.

WIKANG OPISYAL AT PANTURO
panturo mula kindergarten hanggang Grade 3.
Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education DO 16, s. 2012 - Ayon kay Ducher at Tucker (1977)
(Tagalog, Waray, Sambal, Kapampangan, Tausug, Aklanon, Pangasinense, Maguindanaoan,
Kinaray-A, Ilokano, Meranao, Yakan, Bikol, Chavacano, Surigaonon, Cebuano, Ybanag,
Hiligaynon, Ivatan)
bahay.
Homogenous
• Homo; Isa, Genous; Uri o Yari
Heterogenous
• Hetero; Marami, Genous; Uri o Yari
saan tayo’y nabibilang.
magkaparehong-magkapareho.
Halimbawa: Pananalita ni Ruffa Mae at Kris Aquino
• Pormal at Di pormal
Taong Tabon (Tabon Man)
“a” ito pag binasa.
