 Title :- ADVANCE ATTENDANCE SYSTEM

Abstract :

Nowadays, professors at universities and colleges take attendance manually, either by

calling out individuals' names or by handing around an attendance sheet for students
to sign to certify their presence. Using these tactics is not recommended , since it’s
both time-consuming , cumbersome as well as irritating. Therefore a method of taking
attendance in a advanced way is proposed in this paper which is mobile-web based
attendance system. It is based on a web server which is which can be installed on any
computer or mobile application. It computes the attendance percentage of learners
automatically, eliminating the need for any manual paper-based task. With its
interactive design and automated processing or attendance system, this system makes
things easier for the end user. Furthermore, full attendance records could be created
for printing and filing if necessary.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Scope of the Project

In today's world, managing and maintaining student information is a time-consuming

effort for any school. Institutions now often check one's performance and
development in academics, which is a large work stress on lecturers.

The traditional way of taking Attendance recording it  manually in a log book which

is then  subsequently converted into a desktop programme. Such a system might be a
time-consuming procedure that frequently results in mistakes while generating
reports. Furthermore, attendance papers are often lost, forgotten, or information is
recorded incorrectly for a variety of reasons.

To eliminate manual effort and gain more efficiency in handling student information,
a mobile application based on Android can be used to make this process more simple
and helpful in every manner. Therefore by implementing this system we need not
maintain pen-paper based registers for manual attendance system.

1.2 Overview

Our project Android mobile application for attendance tracking is effective and
simple to use. This programme will be installed on the device of the user, most likely
the teacher. Its goal is to give an interface to the instructor, who will only need a few
details to record the attendance of a certain class of learners. Aside from that, the
programme would enable robust user authentication as well as rapid data transfer over
the web service. The application build is safe and friendly since it would avoid proxy
since its handled by the instructor only .
2. Existing System Vs Proposed System.

2.1 Existing System

In the present existing system all the work done is based on pen-paper scenario.
The attendance of the whole class or the section is recorded at either the start or at the
end of the session and then generated later , which in turn sometimes leds to few
errors while generating them.

Drawbacks of Existing System :-

 Very much timing consuming .

 Lots of paper work.
 Difficulty in report generation.
 Errors while generating report.
 No attendance percentage calculation.
 Manual maintenance of data.
 Searching of any correspondence is difficult.

2.2 Proposed System

 The suggested system is user-friendly since data retrieval and storage are quick
and data is efficiently preserved.

 Reports may be readily created in the proposed system, allowing users to generate
reports as needed (weekly or monthly basis) or in the middle of a session.

 The suggested approach requires very minor paper work. All of the data is
quickly sent to the computer, and reports may be made using computers.

 Work can be completed quickly and on time. Furthermore, computer operator

control will be present, eliminating the possibility of mistakes.
