A mystery for Monster of the Week Dusk Two police officers find Helena and want to bring her in for questioning.
She kills both, giving the Phonoi full control over her body.

Outline
A summoning ritual gone wrong gives the
personification of murder a physical body to
unleash terror on the world. The hunters have
to stop the phonos before he brings even
more monsters into the world.
The Hook
One of the hunters could know Andrea Keeler,
the surviver of the first attack. They could
also follow up on the reports of a strange
attack with four victims and a single survivor.
The Phonoi
Motivation: To run wild, destroying and
killing.
Phonoi are the embodiment of murder. When
they slip into a body they need some time to
take and hold control over it. The influence
over the host is stronger at night. They feed
the anger of the host, pushing it towards
murder. After the third kill the Phonos takes
full control.

Mr. Nestler is a retired professor with a
profound knowledge of greek myths. He can
give the hunters detailed information on the
phonoi and give them information on
possible exorcism by mentioning that Apollo,
the God of Light and Healing would be the
right one to invoke. He is also be able to
translate the spell if the hunters found it in
Helena’s room.

The graveyard is well taken care of. At the
place of the summoning, there’s a magic
circle and lots of dried blood. Several
gravestones and part of the earth have deep
claw marks. While most things have been
taken into evidence, if they look around the
hunters can find a handwritten note with
part of the incantation used (written in Old
Greek). They might also be able to find a part
of a claw stuck in one of the gravestones.
Depending on the time of they check, they
might also find police officers and spectators
there that can tell them that before the
bloodbath there had to been a party going on
here.
Nestler House
Hub (Motivation: to reveal information)
Prof. Nester’s house looks very expansive,
the interior looks like the cross of a
gentlemen’s club and a library. Books are
covering every surface,.
After the first murders the Phonoi hides in
this park. It’s a typical relaxation area
popular by joggers and pick-nick goers. If the
phonoi gets confronted here, he might use
his aggression power to pull bystanders into
the fight
Flow of the Mystery
This was meant as a short introduction to
MoTW for my group, that can be played in
around 4 hours (not including character
generation).
The hunters have several options. If they find
something personal of Helena, they can find
her using a tracking spell. They could also
observe the pharmacy in case she shows
there. The hunters could be at Prof. Nestler’s
place when the Phonoi shows up there. Later
in the mystery they can follow her path of
destruction or listen in on police radio. And
there’s always the option of cheating a bit
and just go along the hunters ideas of where
she might be or show up.
