Australia

Australia is the smallest continent. It has 6 times more people than Croatia. It looks like a dragon head.

Around Australia are: Indian, South Pacific, and Southern Ocean.

Western Australia, Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales are parts
of Australia.
Sydney isn’t the capital city of Australia. It’s Canberra. Sydney and Melbourne are one of the biggest cities in Australia. Melbourne was
the richest city in the world 1880.

Australian symbols are: boomerang, koala, surfing, flip-flops and ostrich. The most famous is kangaroo.

In summer in Australia is hot and dry. In winter is cold and humid. In desserts is hot and dry, on the north is tropical and on the south is
temperate.

Tourist places
Sydney opera house is a building where are concerts. On the year there are 1500 concerts and 1.2 million people visit it. Architect Jorn
Utzon built it.

The great coral reef is the one of the most beautiful decorations on our planet. Many sailors, damage
their boat there. Joseph Banks said: ˝This coral reef is unique.” There live lots of fish, corals and other
sea animals.

Uluru is rocky hill in south part of Northern Territory. It’s old and holy place. Uluru has different colors in some parts of a day. In the
morning it is orange, and in twilight it is dark green. It’s made of red sand. There live poison snakes, frogs, lizards and moles. Every part
of Uluru has some meaning. It’s special.

The Twelve Apostles are limestone rocks on the beach Victoria. They are popular tourist attraction.
Rocks are about 50 meters high. They grow 2 cm each year. They were known as the Sow and Pigs.
Bigger rocks were sows and smaller were piglets.
