Brief description of the program

Kickstarter campaigns make ideas into reality. It’s

where creators share new visions for creative work
with the communities that will come together to
fund them.

Some of these creators, like Critical Role, TLC, and

The Smithsonian Institution already had huge
fanbases. But many projects have been as
small-scale as a limited run of silent meditation
vinyls or as up-and-coming as early versions of Issa
Rae's Insecure and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag.
Amount of money they could provide you (or how
much a project has received before)

It solely depends on how successful a project is

with investors, which could range from from
professionals to anyone with an account donating a
dollar. The disadvantage being the more money
you get the more is expected from you.

Kickstarter collects 5% from your total funding as

well as payment processing fees between 3% and
5%.
The most successful Kickstarter campaign is
Pebble Time, managing to land in $20.3 million
dollars.

Going back to Pebble Time, the case itself is very interesting as

the company pursued crowdfunding in 2012 after failing to
attract traditional investors. The initial goal of $100,000 dollars
being surpassed after 2 hours of going live. Sadly on the 7th of
December, 2016, Pebble filed for insolvency, Fitbit that acquired
most of the company’s assets, sold separately, did not take
Pebble’s debt in. Having to refund Kickstarter backers on Pebble
2. While Rebble, an unofficial support in online services also
discontinued in 2018.
With Google Trends we could appreciate how much popular and how much of a small footnote
Pebble turn out to be in comparison. The network is definitely big but you still have ways to go
to really become a successful business with Pebble not adapting to the wrist-watch market,
Pebble definitely helped this new category be in the eyes of the public but it’s not quoted in
modern times.

(Kickstarter is blue and Pebble is all the other lines in the graph for all referred names)
Selection process

Selection process refers to the steps involved in choosing the adequate people to fill a current or
future job opening.
This doesn’t work the same way with Kickstarter, it’s a free platform to make your projects, after
the 30 hour process of approval for then officially launching it. Small business have got the chance
in a big market but the people involved with the organization is entirely up to them, sure you can
hire but you’ve to do it externally from the platform but not everyone is sold on the idea of a
Kickstart-ed business especially for the money influx it constantly needs.
