1.1 Parameter setting

Overview
This item explains the changed part about parameter with the following model in Series 0i-F.
- Series 0i-D
- Series 30i/31i/32i-B

When you replace from the above-mentioned model, reconsider and setup the parameters indicated in this item.

Automatic setting of parameter at power-on

Some parameters are automatically set to recommended values in Series 0i-F, so that you can use the CNC by recommended setting.
These parameters set up automatically are classified into following (1) or (2).
(1) FANUC recommendation setting parameter (fixed type)
(2) FANUC recommendation setting parameter (initialized type)

The specifications of (1) and (2) are as follows.

(1) FANUC recommendation setting parameter (fixed type)

The parameter value is compared with the recommended value at power-on. If the value is other than the recommended value,
the parameter is reset to the recommended value.

The parameter value cannot be changed (by the parameter screen, programmable parameter input (G10) etc), because it is
basically unnecessary for the machine tool builder to change the parameter value.

(2) FANUC recommendation setting parameter (initialized type)

The parameter is set to the recommended value as initial setting at power-on only when memory all clear has been executed.
Although use with initial value is recommended, the machine tool builder can change the parameter value.

The parameter of (1) and (2) is set to recommended value at the time of shipment of CNC.

NOTE
1. There is not this function in Series 0i-D.
2. There is not this function in 30i/31i/32i-B.
3. For details, refer to the appendix "FANUC recommendation setting parameter" in CONNECTION MANUAL
(FUNCTION) (B-64603EN-1) or “1.2 Starting procedure”.

NOTE
In precedence shipment software (ver1.1), setting of the parameter at the time of shipment of CNC is not the
same as the description of the appendix "FANUC recommendation setting parameter" in CONNECTION
MANUAL (FUNCTION) (B-64603EN-1). Execute memory all clear once before setting.

Setting of number of control axes and number of spindle axes

Series 0i-D
The number of control axes in a path is set to parameter No.8130.
The number of spindle axes in a path is set to parameter No.3701#5,#4,#1.

Series 0i-F
The number of control axes of the entire systems is set to the parameter No.0987 and the allocation of each control axis to a path is
set to the parameter No.0981.
The number of spindle axes in a path is set to parameter No.0988 and the allocation of each spindle axis to a path is set to the
parameter No.0982.

NOTE
1. There is not this function in 30i/31i/32i-B.
2. For details of these parameters, refer to “1.3 Parameter list”.

Setting the number of servo axis

Series 0i-D
The values from 1 to the number of the controlled axes are set in the parameter No.1023.
(For the servo software 90E5 series, the values except multiple of 4 are set when the servo HRV3 control is used.)

Series 0i-F
When servo HRV3 control is used, specify 1 + 8n, 2 + 8n, 3 + 8n, 4 + 8n, 5 + 8n (n = 0, 1, 2...) like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13
in parameter No. 1023 as servo axis numbers.
The servo HRV3 control becomes valid by the ‘Parameter setting recommended by FANUC (Initialize type)’.

When servo HRV2 control is used, specify 1 + 8n, 2 + 8n, 3 + 8n, 4 + 8n, 5 + 8n, 6+8n (n = 0, 1, 2...) like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12
and 13, 14 in parameter No. 1023 as servo axis numbers.

NOTE
1. When FSSB automatic setting(bit 0(FMD) of parameter No.1902 is set to 0) is performed, this setting
procedure is unnecessary.
2. This is equivalent to the specification of Series 30i/31i/32i-B. However, when servo HRV3 control is used,
the setting of parameter No.1023 is different. In Series 30i/31i/32i-B, specify 1 + 8n, 2 + 8n, 3 + 8n, 4 + 8n
(n = 0, 1, 2...) like 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12.

Setting FSSB

Series 0i-D
The parameter related to FSSB is set to the following parameter numbers in Series 0i-D.
- the parameter No.14340~14357 : The value (ATR value) of the address translation table value corresponding to slave on
FSSB
(When the parameter DFS(No.14476#0) is 1(the FSSB enters the FS0i-C-compatible mode), the ATR value is set to
parameter No.1910~1919.)
- the parameter No.1936, 1937 : Connector number of the first or second separate detector interface unit
- the parameter No.14376 to 14391 : ATR value corresponding to a connector on a separate detector interface unit

Series 0i-F
The parameter related to FSSB is set to the following parameter numbers in Series 0i-F.
- the parameter No.24000~2403 : The value (ATR value) of the address translation table value corresponding to slave on
FSSB
- the parameter No.24096~24103 : A connector number for the connector to which a separate detector interface unit is
attached if the separate detector interface unit is to be used.
- the parameter No.24104~24167 : ATR value corresponding to a connector on a separate detector interface unit
This parameter need not be set when bit 5 (SSC) of parameter No. 14476 is 0.

In Series 0i-F, the spindle amplifier is connected with FSSB and it is necessary to set the value for the spindle amplifier to parameter
No.24000-24031.

NOTE
1 When Manual setting 1 (bit 0 (FMD) of parameter No.1902 is 0 and bit 1 (AES) of parameter No.1902 is 0 )
or FSSB automatic setting(parameter FMD is 0) is performed, this setting procedure is unnecessary.
2 This is equivalent to the specification of Series 30i/31i/32i-B.
3 For details of these parameters, refer to “1.3 Parameter list”.

The cancellation parameter of package function

In Series 0i-F, valid/invalid of a function included in package 1 is selected by parameters from No.8131.

NOTE
1 This is equivalent to the specification of Series 0i-D.
2 These parameters are not in Series 30i/31i/32i-B.

(Recommended value is 1.)

NOTE
1 This item explains the difference points of Series 0i-D and Series 0i-F.
2 For details of these parameters, refer to “1.3 Parameter list”.
3 In Series 0i-F, because there is no parameter of Series 0i-D in the above-mentioned table, set 0 to these
parameters.

NOTE
It is necessary to set 0 to bit 1 (INA) of parameter No.14000 for the rotation axis or other axes not related to
inch/millimeter switching. In precedence shipment software (ver1.1), because parameter INA is FANUC
recommendation setting parameter (fixed type), 0 cannot be set to INA in the state of default. When there is
the rotation axis or other axes not related to inch/millimeter switching, set bit 0 (IPW) of parameter No.8880
to 1(this setting enables FANUC recommendation setting parameter (fixed type) to be changed), and set 0 to
parameter INA. When parameter IPW is set to 0 again, FANUC recommendation setting parameter (fixed
type) is initialized again at power-on. Do not set parameter IPW to 0 after setting 0 to parameter INA.

1.2 Starting procedure

The method not using the parameter file of other models (recommended)
When you don’t use the parameter file of other models, refer to “1.1 Parameter setting” and set the parameters by the same method
starting other models.

The method using the parameter file of other models

There are some differences among Series 0i-F, Series 0i-D and Series 30i/31i/32i-B.
If you input the parameter file from which output Series 0i-D or Series 30i/31i/32i-B, it is necessary to reset the parameters according
to specification of Series 0i-F.
Moreover, in Series 0i-F, some parameters are automatically set to recommended values, so that you can use the CNC by
recommended setting. But if you input the parameter file of Series 0i-D or Series 30i/31i/32i-B, recommended values may be
changed. So it is necessary to correct these parameters.

About the procedure in the case of inputting the parameter file of Series 0i-D or Series 30i/31i/32i-B, an example is shown below.

1. Outputting the parameter file from Series 0i-D or Series 30i/31i/32i-B

Display the parameter screen in EDIT mode or state emergency stop, and output the parameter file by the soft key [(OPT)]→[F
OUTPUT](→[NON-0])→[EXEC].

Ed. Date Design Description FANUC CORPORATION 6/26

Date July.30.2014 Design Approv
When bit 1 (PRM) of parameter No.0010 is set to 1, the parameter whose value is 0 is not output. Outputting by setting PRM to
1 is recommended, because it is avoidable that the parameter is overwritten unintentionally when input the parameter file to
Series 0i-F.

2. Inputting the parameter file to Series 0i-F

Display the setting screen in MDI mode or state emergency stop, and enter 1 in response to the prompt for “PARAMETER
WRITE”.
Display the parameter screen in EDIT mode or state emergency stop, and input the parameter file by the soft key [(OPT)]→[F
INPUT]→[EXEC].
If the parameter file name is specified at the time of the file output, type the name of the file while pressing the soft key
[F INPUT] and [EXEC].

3. Resetting the parameters which are different among Series 0i-F, Series 0i-D and Series 30i/31i/32i-B
Refer to “1.1 Parameter setting”, and reset the required parameters.

4. Correcting FANUC recommendation setting parameter (fixed type)

Once, turn off and on the power. (It is unnecessary when the power is turned off and on also at once after operation of 2.)
FANUC recommendation setting parameter (fixed type) is reset to recommended value by this operation.
When bit 0 (IPW) of parameter No.8880 is 1, FANUC recommendation setting parameter (fixed type) can be set to other than
recommended value. As long as there is no situation in particular, leave IPW 0.

5. Correcting FANUC recommendation setting parameter (initialized type)

FANUC recommendation setting parameter (initialized type) is set to the recommended value at the time of shipment of CNC or
at power-on when memory all clear has been executed. Recommended value is not set at usual power-on.
So if FANUC recommendation setting parameter (initialized type) is overwritten by the operation of 2, the parameter is not reset
to recommended value. Reconsider the value of overwritten FANUC recommendation setting parameter (initialized type).
Moreover, depending on a machine configuration, a recommended value is not necessarily appropriate about the parameter
which is not overwritten.
It is recommended to reconsider all FANUC recommendation setting parameter (initialized type).

NOTE
For details the list and details, refer to the appendix "FANUC recommendation setting parameter" in
CONNECTION MANUAL (FUNCTION) (B-64603EN-1).

This parameter associates each control axis with a specific servo axis.
The control axis number is the order number that is used for setting the axis-type parameters or axis-type machine
signals.
When servo HRV3 control is used, specify 1 + 8n, 2 + 8n, 3 + 8n, 4 + 8n, 5 + 8n (n = 0, 1) like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10,
11, 12 and 13 in parameter No. 1023 as servo axis numbers.
The servo HRV3 control becomes valid by the ‘Parameter setting recommended by FANUC (Initialize type)’.
When servo HRV2 control is used, specify 1 + 8n, 2 + 8n, 3 + 8n, 4 + 8n, 5 + 8n, 6+8n (n = 0, 1) like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
6, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, 14 in parameter No. 1023 as servo axis numbers.

NOTE
1 When FSSB automatic setting( bit 0(FMD) of parameter No.1902 is set to 0) is performed, setting to this
parameter is unnecessary.
2 This is equivalent to the specification of Series 30i/31i/32i-B. However, when servo HRV3 control is used,
the setting of parameter No.1023 is different. In Series 30i/31i/32i-B, specify 1 + 8n, 2 + 8n, 3 + 8n, 4 + 8n
(n = 0, 1) like 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12.

Setting FSSB
NOTE
1 When Manual setting 1 ( bit 0 (FMD) of parameter No.1902 is set to 0, bit 1 (AES) of parameter
No.1902 is set to 0) or FSSB automatic setting (parameter FMD is set to 0) is performed, this setting is
unnecessary.

A 2-axis amplifier consists of two slaves, and a 3-axis amplifier consists of three slaves. In each of these
parameters, set a value as described below, depending on whether the slave is an amplifier, separate detector
interface unit, or nonexistent.
- When the slave is a servo amplifier:
Set the axis number of a servo amplifier to allocate (value set with parameter No. 1023) plus 1000.
- When the slave is a spindle amplifier:
Set the spindle number of a spindle to allocate (value set with parameter No. 3717) plus 2000.
- When the slave is a separate detector interface unit:
Set 3001, 3002, 3003, and 3004, respectively, for the first (one connected nearest to the CNC), second, third,
and fourth separate detector interface units.
- When the slave is nonexistent:
Set 1000.

NOTE
1 When the electronic gear box (EGB) function is used
Although an amplifier is not actually required for an EGB dummy axis, set this parameter
with assuming that a dummy amplifier is connected. To put it another way, specify this
parameter with a value set in the EGB dummy axis parameter (No. 1023) plus 1000,
instead of “1000”, as an address translation table value for one of non-existent slaves.
2 When the FSSB is set to the automatic setting mode (when bit 0 (FMD) of parameter No.
1902 is set to 0), parameter Nos. 24000 to 24031 are automatically set as data is input on
the FSSB setting screen. When the manual setting 2 mode is set (when bit 0 (FMD) of
parameter No. 1902 is set to 1), be sure to directly set values in parameter Nos. 24000 to
24031.
