A Picnic
Last Sunday we went (0) to a Picnic in Pantai Timur. It was a sunny day
and there (9) was many people. We saw some (10) child flying their kites
and playing volleyballs. After we found a place to put our things, my sister
and I jumped into the sea while my mother was (11) watched. The water
was warm and it was nice to swim. After an hour, we felt (12) hungrily. We
went back to the beach (13) or ate the delicious food my mother prepared.
We finished all the fried noodle and chicken wings. Also, we (14) have fun
singing and chatting together after that. One of the most exciting (15) thing
there was to feed the birds with our bread. We had a lot of fun laughing
together. I think it was the (16) good day of the
year.

The festival has three afternoons of interesting and fun workshops and
mini concerts, followed by evening live performances on the main stage.
These performances have proven to be a hit with the audience, who
come from near and far. On the final night, there will also be a sing-
together session that will be led by an international superstar.
The festival site is set up with a variety of food and drink stalls. We are
no longer serving free juices for visitors but you will be served an ice tea
when you enter. Independent singers will also set up an arts area to
offer their latest music at a cheap price.

My best friend
Friends are important to us. We do not need too many friends but a few great
friends make a huge difference in our lives. I have such a good friend in my life. Her name
is Lily and we go to the same school. Although we are the same age, we do not learn in
the same class. Her class is one floor below mine because we have different interests in
studies. I love science and she loves history.
Lily has a good sense of humour. She always makes me smile when I am down.
She sometimes makes jokes that I can laugh so hard my stomach hurts. She is the most
hardworking person I know and she is never selfish in sharing what she knows. Her
knowledge in world history is amazing. She dreams to become a history journalist one
day.
Lily and I live in the same neighbourhood. Every morning, we take the school bus
together to go to school. Sometimes, my mother would make two packed meals to give
one to Lily. We would eat together during the school break. I can eat a lot. So, when Lily
cannot finish her meal, I would be the first to take her food. She always jokes that I might
become a teddy bear if I keep eating so much.
Another reason Lily and I become so close is because we share the same love for
netball. We both play for the school netball team and we train three times a week after
school. Lily is recently chosen as the team captain. Coach likes that she is a fair person.
One time I was late for training, she made me run five rounds around the court as
punishment even though we are close friends. Besides, she trains hard and always
communicate with us during games.
I am grateful because I have a good friend. Lily has been like a sister to me. I
cannot imagine my life without her.
