Installing IBM MQ

We must check Hardware and Software requirements to proceed our MQ Series Installation

 How much disk space is free. How much disk space we need for installation.900 MB is required
for full installation
 Speed of the processor
 Hardware type(32/64)
 Check MQ Series supports the operating system currently running
 Check Eclipse installation required, If it is required install Eclipse first.

Installing MQ on windows –

Step 1 – Download MQ software from the IBM passport advantage

Step 2 - Find the path where the setup file is located and start the setup file

In our case

C:\Users\SSC\Downloads\IBM_MQ_9.0.4.0_WINDOWS\IBM_MQ_9.0.4.0_WINDOWS\MQServer

click and start the launch pad

Step 3 – go to the software requirements in the MQ installation wizard. Following wizard shows the
prerequisite Software are installed or not

Step 4 –click on IBM MQ Installation and click on LAUNCH IBM MQ INSTALLER

Step 5 – Read and Agree the License Agreement

step 6 – choose the setup type

When you Select Custom

 You can give the installation name

 You can give the installation path
 You can give the data files path
 You can give the log files path
 Select the features to install

Step 7 – review the features you install and the file paths

Step 8 – The installation may take some time

Step 9 – After IBM MQ is installed click FINISH to exit the wizard

Step 10 – The system may ask for a restart for the changes to take effect
Step 11 –Prepare IBM MQ Wizard will open after restart, click Next.

Step 12 –If there are any domain controllers using windows 2000 or later select yes
Step 13- click FINISH to complete the setup

Step 14 – Examine if the MQ is successfully installed. Use DSPMQVER to display MQ version

MQ is successfully Installed.
