OVERVIEW, PREPARATION, AND SET UP

Lab Overview
The lab exercises are designed to complement your training, reinforcing the key concepts by applying and demonstrating what you learn in the presentation sessions.
This lab book is comprised of individual exercises. The individual exercises allow you to get first hands-on exposure working with the various Oracle Cloud HCM products
using a demo environment, where you will see how key features and functionality are deployed in the software.
You will be using a software environment assigned to you by Demo Services or otherwise provided through your manager.
What you see displayed in your environment may not match exactly with the lab screenshots. Screenshots are provided solely for illustrative purposes to help guide you
directionally through the user interface.

You or your mentor need to complete the Profile lab setup guide prior to this demo.

LAB: PROFILES

Exercise: Review your new hire’s Personal Information (My Details, Payslip, and Total Compensation Statement) and Talent Profile. If not already done, you will need to
work with your mentor to have payroll and the total compensation statement run prior to doing this lab.

STEP ACTION

1. Sign in as your new hire firstname.lastname with the password you created.

2. As an employee, having access to personal information, without having to contact the HR department, is key.
In the global search type Compensation and select My Compensation.

Here I can see my current salary, salary range, and any past salary details.

4. Scroll down and click on the down arrow in the Total Compensation Statements section.

5. Expand section and click on 01/01/20XX – 31/12/20XX hyperlink, where XX is the current year.

Note: The Total Compensation Statement will open in a separate tab.

6. My company provides total compensation statements to demonstrate how much employees’ efforts matter to the company and the
total value of what the company provides to its employees. Here I can view my current salary, plus non-discretionary pay such as
vision, dental, medical, and 401k in one place as defined and branded by my company.

7. Scroll down to review the various components of your total compensation.

8. Close the browser tab that was opened.

9. From the global search type payslip and select My Payslips.

10. Here I can see a list of my current and historical payslips.

A copy of my payslip is displayed and I can view all of the details such as my gross-to-net summary, earning and deduction details, as
well as my payment method. I can choose to print or save a copy of my payslip for future reference.

Note: This will open a PDF in some browsers it could save it at the bottom of your browser screen and you would need to open it.

13. Click the X in the Payslip window to close.

14. Click the home icon.

15. From the Me tab, click My Public Info under quick actions.
Note: Quick actions are configurable to allow one-click access to what a company considers the most frequent transactions.

Under Actions on the right, click on Change Background Image and Upload a picture for your background. Mine is a picture of the
sunrise over the ocean.

17. Scroll down to About Me and click on +Add to tell us a little about yourself.

NOTE: If you first go in and it doesn’t allow you to update, click the home icon and then come back in.

19. Let’s update our Areas of Expertise and Areas of Interest.

20. Enter several skills and qualifications and areas of interest that you think are requirements for the analyst position you were hired in.

Note: When you put these in they can be searched like keywords; therefore they need to be entered without blanks. For example:
HR, Requirements_Analyst, Planning_Monitoring, Modeling, Cost_Benefits_Analysis.

21. Click Save.

22. Scroll up and click Show More on the left side of the screen.

24. To ensure that my management team is confident in my abilities in my new role as an analyst, I need to update my current skills to
show that I am a suitable match for this role. It is understandable that there may be some areas for improvement, which will allow me
to set goals to ensure I have a plan to get to the next career level.
Let’s take a closer look at my competencies.
Click the Skills and Qualifications subtab on the left of the screen.

Note: Oracle has a strong relationship with LinkedIn and therefore an employee could import their profile into their profile page
directly. Also, companies encourage employees to fill out this information by providing them a visual about the effectiveness of their
profile strength. Since we haven’t added anything yet, this should be blank at this point.

We’re going to add Competencies.
Click Action drop-down and choose Add Competencies.

29. When I applied for the Analyst job opening, I was told there were 5 key competencies for the Analyst role. If my company used Oracle
Recruiting, these competencies could have been entered when I applied for the job and they would be automatically accessible in the
HR system. However, since my company hasn’t purchased Recruiting, I will update my Talent Profile with those 5 competencies to start
and I can go back and enter more at a later time.
1. Adherence to Quality Standards
2. Data Dissemination
3. Planning and Organizing
4. Problem Solving
5. Results Orientation

Select the Competency (Adherence to Quality Standards) from the Competency drop-down box, select Proficiency level from the Self
Evaluation drop-down box, then click Save and Close button.

Repeat the steps to add Data Dissemination.

30. For the competencies, Planning and Organizing, Problem Solving, and Results Orientation, my company has created sub behaviors to
help me determine my competency rating. For these you’ll need to rate the behaviors and then the average will show as the self-rating.

Click the pencil icon to edit the rating.

31. Pick a Self Evaluation rating. Complete all behaviors for each of the three competencies and click OK.

32. Click the Save and Close button. Complete for Planning and Organizing, Problem Solving and Results Orientation.

34. I will continue to update my Skills and Qualifications. At the very least, I need to document my degree, license and certifications, and
any memberships that I have.
Using the Actions drop-down on the top right, repeat similar process to add each section above.
Note: Add as many as you like.  For each section added you will need to click the Submit button to complete the process.

35. Now we can see that my talent profile has been updated. At this point, I have updated several areas of my Skills and Qualifications.
Now the management team can have visibility into my experience for future projects.

I can also see how my Competencies align with the key requirements for my current role as an Analyst. I can see a target and my
evaluation side by side.
