Q1: Determine the smallest diameter of pins A, B and C necessary to support the
load. The pins have an allowable shear stress of τallow=150 MPa.

Q2: A copper rod is inserted into a hollow aluminum cylinder. The copper rod

Q3 A beam is to be constructed from three boards nailed together as shown in the figure.
If each nail can support a shear force of 30 lb determine the maximum spacing s of nails
so that the beam will support the vertical force of 80 lb.
