Migration from Multi-Node (6.6)
1. Must be on UCSD 6.6
2. Take snapshot of Primary and Database VMs in multi-node
3. Upgrade Monitoring DB Node by applying 6.7 patch, which contains a
database migration script
4. Run the database migration script on the Monitoring Node, which will
migrate Inventory DB content to Monitoring DB
5. Apply 6.7 patch on Primary Node. Upgrade script will detect the
migration status of Monitoring Database and convert Primary Node to
Application node
6. Power off Service nodes and Inventory Node VMs

Prior to 6.7 - Users with “Admin” Role type, and has RO access for
orchestration were not able to see Workflows Details, Inputs/Outputs

• In 6.7, Users with “Admin” Role type that has RO access to
orchestration would get to view all details pertaining to a Workflow.
• Enabled following actions for RO User:
• View :- We provide User summary of workflow details
• Workflow Designer :- Full read access to the workflow designer.

Enhanced Options for Loop Procedural Task
• In 6.7, Start Loop procedural task is enhanced to give User more
options for specifying a starting iteration index.
• Also included is an option to specify a step increment value for
which the index should be iterating. With a negative step integer
value, the iteration could also be used to decrement the starting
index value for each iteration.

Nested Global Variable Resolution
In 6.7, nested macro values get resolved recursively until it resolves to a final value.
Service Request Quick View
• In 6.7, added capability to quickly view status of recent Service
requests. It categorizes the Service requests which are In progress,
completed and which had failed execution. Click Icon/Labels…

Cloning a Workflow Task
• Added new capability to clone a Task within the Workflow designer
itself thereby saving time for User to use an existing task with same
Task inputs or same input mappings.
• This avoids the overhead of dragging a new Task from Task library
and having to repeat the process of providing the Task values or
Input mappings.

What is the UCSD Device Connector?
• Device connector connects Cisco UCS Director to Cisco Intersight,
the cloud-hosted server management system
• To register a device with Cisco Intersight in the cloud, you must do
the following:
• Connect Cisco UCS Director with Cisco Intersight by configuring the
device connector proxy settings, if they are required
• Use the device serial number and security code to validate your access
to the device from Cisco Intersight and claim the device

• Telemetry gathering from UCS Director IaaS Management

• Upgrading of UCSD Southbound Connectors via the Intersight
Device Connector, which allows for:
• Connected TAC - Automated collection of troubleshooting logs with

UCSD System Updates
• The Support for updating the Connector Packs were added as part
of UCSD 6.6
• Requires Intersight Connectivity, otherwise you upgrade the
product with a standard patch release.
• New for UCSD 6.7, added the capability to update the Base Packs:
• Base Platform
• System Update Manager
Base Platform
• Base Platform can contain updates to platform features, third party
jars, Shell Scripts, web server, RPMs, Web UI, Java Runtime etc.
• The Base Platform update should eliminate need for regular patch
upgrades in most cases
System Update Manager
• System Update Manager is a framework component that performs
the actual upgrade of Connector Packs and Base Platform.
• System Update Manager is also responsible for:
• Working with Intersight to download the appropriate System Packs to
UCSD based on the installed versions.
• Sign Verification of all System Packs

System Update Steps
• Systems packs are updated sequentially in the following order:
• System Update Manager (restarts after upgrade)
• Connector Packs (All Connector Packs)
• Base Platform
• For each upgrade request there is one parent request and three sub-
requests (one for each system pack) created. Number of sub-requests
depends on the system packs selected
• The System Update Manager restarts, after it’s upgrade and before the
updating of the Connector Packs and Base Platform
• The required services are stopped before upgrading the Connector Packs
and Base Platform. The services are restarted after the update

• Once update is triggered, user will be redirected to status page
• Workflow progress is displayed for each system pack update and
the sub-request status is displayed in left panel

• The status is marked as Completed for each sub request
(Connector Packs, System Update Manager and Base Platform)
after successful update
• The Parent request status is also marked Complete
• After successful update, the logout button shall be enabled

System Update UI (Update Failure)
• If a sub request fails, overall status shall be marked Partially
Completed
• If System Update Manager upgrade fails then subsequent request
shall be marked as failed and update will be terminated.
Crash Handling and Rollback
• In case of a update failure of System Update Manager then System
Update Manager alone shall be rolled back and the subsequent
requests shall be marked as failed and will not proceed for upgrade
• If Connector Pack update fails in the middle of a update request,
then all the Connector Packs updates in the given update request
shall be rolled back
• If System Update Manager which performs the actual upgrade
crashes for any reason, system shall be recovered during the
subsequent start-up of System Update Manager. The update that
was in progress during the crash will be rolled back and the update
status will be marked as failed.

updates in a tree view
• Displayed as Parent request and its corresponding sub requests.

Connector Version Management
• In UCSD 6.6 release, we are introducing connector based
versioning.
• UCSD version is called as Platform version
• Each separated connectors will have individual version.
• Each connector will have minimum supported Platform version
• Each separated connector can be downloaded and upgraded
based on the version compatibility and dependency
