REFLECTION PAPER – for Group 8

I learned a lot about Muslims' belief in predestination after viewing Group 8's video
presentation, which asserts that Almighty Allah (S.W.T.) has predetermined everything that will
happen in the world and people's lives. Muslims believe that divine destiny is when God wrote
everything that has happened and will happen in the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfooz),
and it will This viewpoint is supported by evidence, rather than what is written in the preserved
tablet causing a person's behavior, the action is written in the tablet because God already knows
all happenings without regard to time, and most Muslims believe that humans cannot choose
their actions. Some Muslims say In Shaa Allah, which means "If Allah Wills," to emphasize that
life has already been planned out by the Almighty Allah (S.W.T.) and that he has determined
how each individual would act. Also, I've learned that predestination has four levels and is based
on four factors: Al-Ilm (Knowledge), Kitabat (Writing), Mashii'at (Will), and Al-Khalq (creation
and formation). So, my understanding of Al-Ilm (Knowledge) is that Muslims believe that Allah
(S.W.T) knows what has happened, what will happen, what has never happened, and how it
could have happened if it had, Muslims believe that Allah (S.W.T) has recorded all that exists,
including the fate of all things, in Al-Lawhal-Mahfoodh, hence Al Lawl Al Mahfoodh was the
first thing created and is kept for 100 years. Before creating anything else, Almighty Allah told
the Pen (the second creation) to write. It wanted to know what was going to be written. It was
informed, "All that will be." (According to some accounts, "Write down My knowledge,
regarding My creatures, until the Day of Judgment"). So it scribbled on the Lawh al-Mahfuz
everything that needed to be there. As a result, nothing that will happen or will happen, no matter
how big or small, is written down in the Lawh al-Mahfuz, precisely qualified and defined, along
with information about when and where it will occur and when it will be destroyed.

Belief in the eternal Will of Allah, that nothing can stop it, as well as in His power that
nothing can weaken it, therefore all events take place according to the Will and Power of Allah
regardless of His will come to pass, and whatever He does will not come to pass. Allah the
Exalted said And it is you will not be able to desire except with the permission of Allah - the
Lord of all creation At-Takwir (81): 29.

In terms of the events that occur, it is true that everyone is aware that they have the
freedom to choose and the authority to do anything they want, and that by doing so, they are free
to choose from a variety of possibilities. He can do other things on his initiative, such as walking,
but he cannot do other things on his initiatives, such as tremors and unexpected falls; still,
resolve and ability are only possible if Allah's will is followed. "For everyone who desires to
travel the straight [path], And [it is] you will not desire except by Allah the Lord of all
[creation's] permission," says Allah the Exalted in Surah At-Takwir (81): 28-29. He
demonstrated that man has his own will, but that it is subject to Allah's will, as well as the fact
that Allah owns the entire universe, and so nothing will happen in His Kingdom without His
knowledge and will.
