I. Course objective:
This course is a follow-up to the first-year pronunciation course and aims to provide advanced
training in pronunciation skills as well as an advanced understanding of the core principles and
topics of English phonetics and phonology. The course covers all the main aspects of English
pronunciation at both segmental and suprasegmental levels and focusses on the description of
the basic features of present-day RP.
