1 LIFTING AND DISMANTLING OF OLD SUBMERSIBLE PUMP
1.1 Purpose
To define the method of dismantling of submersible pump
1.2 Scope
This method is applicable for dismantling of submersible pump.
1.3 Method
a. The lifting coupling is screwed to the riser pipe.
b. The crane will lift the riser pipe by the lifting coupling until the second coupling of the riser
pipe gets above ground.
c. A clamp is installed to hold the riser pipe and then the above ground pipe will be unscrewed
by the chain wrenches.
d. Lose pipe will be put aside, lifting coupling will be unscrewed from the lose pipe and then
screwed to the riser pipe.
e. These steps are repeated until all the pipes are dismantled and the pump appears above
ground.
1.6 Safety
Safety equipment (example hard hats, Safety shoes, Coverall, m. Gloves, Goggles, when necessary,
etc.) to be worn all the times
2 INSTALLATION OF SUBMERSIBLE PUMP
2.1 Purpose
To define the method of installation of submersible pump
2.2 Scope
This method is applicable for installation of submersible pump.
2.3 Method
a. Check the support for the submersible pump is of proper size.
b. Submersible pump installation works shall be carried out in accordance with the
specification.
c. Pump installation shall be completed according to the manufacture’s recommendation.
d. Discharge side shall be connected through the pressure chamber
e. To the adjacent manhole
2.6 Safety
Safety equipment (example hard hats, Safety shoes, Coverall, m. Gloves, Goggles, when necessary,
etc.) to be worn all the times
3 WELL DEVELOPMENT
This operation is essential before exploiting the drinking water well, it decreases to the maximum
well and aquifer losses by eliminating fine particles of sand and clay detrimental to the operation of
the well pump.
Permeability (k)
Transmissivity (T)
Storage coefficient (S)
Leakage coefficient
Pumping tests require the measurement of several parameters:
Time
Water depth
Flow
Pumping tests should allow the determination of the well losses (water well test) and the
calculation of the hydrodynamic characteristics of the aquifer (aquifer test) so as to establish the
yield of the water well.
3.6 Energy
We will provide the site with an electrical generator supplying the pumping with power during the
entire period.
