IV. Solve the following problems.


1. In a department store, the salesman showed three length of clothing material.
One length is 3.25 m long the other is 400 cm long and the third is 41 dm long.
By how much the largest material exceeds the shortest one in centimeter.
2. Dane weighs 5400 grams more than Drex and 2300 grams less than Novi. If Novi
weighs 48 kg, how much does Drex weigh? What is the total of their weights?
3. A man can encode 2,160 words per hour. At this rate, in how many minutes can
he encode 540 words?
4. The area of the two squares are of 144 cm2 and 16 dm2. By how many
centimeters does the perimeter of the larger square exceed the smaller square?
5. Nine congruent squares with an area of 25 cm2 are put together to form a big
square. What is the perimeter of the big square?
6. A Grab Taxi consumed about 16 liters of gasoline for 5 bookings. At this rate , if
he had consumed 130 liters, how many bookings did he serve?

V. CHALLENGE!

1. How far will the tip of the hand of a clock 12 cm long (minute hand) travel from
10 am to 2 pm? (use 𝜋 = 3.14)
2. Due to the road widenning, the two adjoining sides of a rectangular lot 18 m by
24 m 2 m wide was cut. By how much was the area decrease?

together to form the figure as shown. What is the

8. Seven identical cylindrical cans of radius 5 cm are tied together with a thread.
What is the minimum measure of the thread if you allow 20 cm for tying knot?

9. Rodrigo has 6400 m2 piece of land in a square shape.
