    Overview

    Asana was created by Facebook founder Dustin Moskovitz and former employee
    Justin Rosenstein back in 2008. This tool is centered around projects and it is basic
    and plain in its approach towards task/project management.

    Within each project you create, you can create sections to categorize tasks. Each task
    can have subtasks, descriptions, assignees, tags, comments, and custom fields. You
    can choose to view these tasks either in List, Board, Timeline, or Calendar view.

    Overview

    Trello is a task management app that uses the Kanban system to help you organize
    projects. It was founded in 2011 by Joel Spolsky and Michael Pryor. As a project
    management tool, it focuses more on the workflow of tasks.

    As Trello's layout mimics a Kanban board, tasks are shown in form of cards. These
    cards are organized in Columns that represent the statuses through which each card
    would flow. And the actual discussions and collaboration happen inside the card. This
    system gives teams the flexibility to consider each board as a project by itself.
