EXTENT TO WHICH STAFF MOTIVATION STRATEGIES AS A TOOL COULD

IMPROVE QUALITATIVE SCIENCE EDUCATION IN ENUGU SATE COLLEGE OF


EDUCATION (TECHNICAL), ENUGU
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which staff motivation strategies as a
tool could improve qualitative science education in Enugu state college of education (technical),
Enugu.
The study specifically sought to determine:
1. The extent to which promotion of staff acts as a motivational strategies in improvising the
teaching and learning of science education.
2. The extent to which regular payment of staff salaries affect their productivity during
teaching and learning
3. The extent to which such programmes like seminars, conferences, and workshop that are
conducted for the staff enhance the teaching and learning of science education.
4. The extent to which reduction of workload act as a motivational strategies improving the
teaching and learning of science education.
Research Questions
The following questions guided the study.
1. To what extent does promotion of staff acts as a motivational strategies in improving the
teaching and learning of science education?
2. To what extents does the regular payment of staff salaries affect their productivity during
teaching and learning?
3. To what extent does programs like seminars, conferences, and workshop that are conducted
for the staff enhance the teaching and learning of science education?
4. To what extent does reduction of workload act as a motivational strategies improving the
teaching and learning of science education?
Research Hypothesis
The following null hypothesis guided the study and was tested as 0.05 level of significance.
1. There is no significance difference between the mean achievement scores of male and
female lecturers on the extent to which promotion of staff acts as a motivational strategies in
improving the teaching and learning of science education.
2. There is no significance difference between the mean achievement scores of male and
female lecturers on the extent to which regular payment of staff salaries affect their
productivity during teaching and learning.
3. There is no significance difference between the mean achievement scores of male and
female lecturers on the extent to which programs like seminars, conferences, and workshop
that are conducted for the staff enhance the teaching and learning of science education.
4. There is no significance difference between the mean achievement scores of male and
female lecturers on the extent to which reduction of workload act as a motivational
strategies improving the teaching and learning of science education.
