1. Explain in your own words the different learners in marginalized groups and explain why they are
labelled as marginalized?
a. Child workers. These refer to the children below 15 years old that are engaged on labor not part of
their house help. These children work to help in providing the needs of their family. They are
marginalized because the time that should be spent for their study and play were replaced by working
hours.

b. Indigenous people. These refer to the people belonging to a particular tribe where they have their
own set of cultural beliefs and traditions. Their opposing view and locations are factors that make them
marginalized. Little opportunities for learning made available to them is a challenge for them to
improve and develop.

c. abused children. These refer to children who suffers from sexual, physical, emotional and other form
of abuses. They become marginalized because they develop a lack of trust to persons older than them.

d. refugees and displaced children. These are children who are displaced from their home due to unjust
condition of their previous home. They are marginalized because aside from disruption from their
education and social life, they need to adapt to their new environment.

e. Children in conflict zones. These refer to children who are in areas stricken by wars and armed
conflicts. It brought fear to them and trauma. They are marginalized because education will be disrupted
and they fear for their lives.

2. As a future educator, how will you stop marginalization in the classroom?

As a future educator, I will open doors for all children who loves learning. I will share to them especially
to those marginalized groups that education is essential. Moreover, I will also reach out to the parents
of those marginalized groups so we can work hand in hand in shaping their children’s live. I will
acknowledge their concerns and challenges. If needed, I will use my authority as a teacher to act on
their behalf, to get their needed support. I will let my classroom a safe haven for all children. I will let
them dream with one another and foster care and love for each of them. I will practice inclusivity for all
of them.

3. What do you think are the effective actions the school can do to help the different learners in
marginalized groups?

I think that a collaborative effort must be performed so that actions will be considered effective. I think
that school should tap the parents, teachers, non-teaching staff, and community leaders to work
together in addressing the concerns of marginalized groups. As parents, they should identify or inform
the school what situation or impeding needs their children may require. On the part of the teacher, they
should inform their school head and the parents what noticeable observations they may see from their
students. Meanwhile, guidance counsellors must provide support functions to students identified or
suspected to be disturbed due to their marginalized condition. As to the members and leaders of the
community, they must foster an inclusive environment for all, not only on school premises but also to
the community.
