Section-A (4 marks)
1. A cuboidal water tank is 6 m long, 2.5 m wide and 1.5 m deep. How many litres of water can it hold?

2. If (– 5) is the remainder when 2𝑥 3 − 𝑚𝑥 2 − 9 is divided by 2𝑥 + 1, find the value of m.

3. The diagonals of a rectangle PQRS meet at O. If ∠𝑃𝑂𝑄 = 124°, find the measure of ∠𝑂𝑆𝑅.

4. Factorize: 3√3 𝑥 + 2√2 𝑦 (write the identity used)

5. Find the volume of a hemispherical bowl whose inner surface area is 308 cm2.

6. Prove that the angle bisectors of adjacent angles of a parallelogram intersect at right angles.

Section-C (12 marks)

7. Show that (𝑥 + 2) is a factor of the polynomial 𝑝(𝑥) = 𝑥 3 + 13𝑥 2 + 32𝑥 + 20 and hence factorise
𝑝(𝑥).

8. Show that diagonals of a square are equal and bisect each other.

9. A circus tent is in the form of a right circular cylinder surmounted by a right circular cone. The
diameter and the height of the cylindrical part are 126 m and 5 m respectively. The total height of the
circus tent is 21 m. Find the total canvas used in making the tent.
10. l, m and n are three parallel lines intersected by transversals p and q such that l, m and n cut off equal
intercepts, AB and BC, on p. Prove that l, m and n cut off equal intercepts, DE and EF, on q also.
