LESSON PLAN IN ART FOR KINDERGARTEN

I. Objectives

At the end of the 30 minute lesson, the children are expected to do the following with at least
85% level of accuracy:

a. apply different colors in the paper;

b. make creative designs; and

c. participate in the activity.

II. Subject Matter

Finger painting

 Non-toxic paint
 Water
 Paper
 Newspaper
 Plastic table cloth
 Apron (optional)

IV. Procedure

A. Purposing

1. Motivation

Good morning children (Good morning teacher). Today we are going to learn more about art.
Are you excited for our activity? (Yes teacher) very good. Now, I want to show you a picture.
What can you see in the picture? (A tree and a flower teacher) That’s right! But did you know
that I only used my hands to paint this picture? (No teacher) Do you want also to paint pictures
using your hands? (Yes teacher) Okay very good. So now please get your art materials and be
ready for our activity.
2. Presentation

Now, we have here different colors of paint and a paper and we are going to use our hands to put
different colors in the paper and make a beautiful picture. You can paint anything you want.  You can
create beautiful flowers, funny little people and animals with the colourful fingerprints but before that,
we need to wear our apron first so that our clothes won’t get dirty and we need to put the plastic table
cloth and newspaper on the area we want to paint.

B. Planning

1. Procedure

Since I can see that you are now ready for our finger painting activity. We have to follow these steps:

1. Coat your index finger with paint


2. Press your index finger coated in paint firmly on the sheet of paper to create a colourful
fingerprint.
3. Repeat this process as often as you like, preferably with different colours.
4. When you’re done, let your artwork dry.
5. Afterwards, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

2. Setting of Standards

But before doing our finger painting activity, here are the things you need to remember:

1. Avoid putting paints in your mouth.


2. Work independently.
3. If you need help, ask the teacher.
4. Always keep your area clean especially after the activity.

C. Executing

For this finger painting activity, I am giving you 30 minutes to work on it independently.

D. Judging

But before you start, these are the criteria that you need to observe to get higher points.

 Creativity- 50%
 Originality- 40%
 Cleanliness- 10 %
