1.0 INTRODUCTION

A bibliography is a list of works such as books and articles written on a particular subject or

by a particular author. Besides that, bibliography is also known as a list of works cited, a
bibliography may appear at the end of a book, report, online presentation, or research paper.
An annotated bibliography includes a brief descriptive and evaluative paragraph or
annotation for each item in the list. These annotations often give more context about why a
certain source may be useful or related to the topic at hand.

In paper writing, bibliographies can be divided into two categories which is the American
Psychology Association (APA) and Modern Language Association (MLA). There are two
parts to referencing: the citations within the text of the paper and the reference list at the end
of the paper. The APA referencing style is an "author-date" style, so the citation in the
text consists of the author(s) and the year of publication given wholly or partly in round
brackets. Use only the surname of the author(s) followed by a comma and the year of
publication. Include page, chapter or section numbers if it is needed to be specific. The APA
style citation writing is common in writing science reports and other related materials while
the MLA style citation is common in factual writings.

Bibliographies are widely used by students and professional educators when they are writing
assessments, thesis, paperwork and other formal writings. It is used to cite other sources of
information from printed and non-printed materials such as books, encyclopaedia, journals,
dictionary, thesaurus, internet online databases and even daily newspapers. One reason
why bibliographies are the most important thing that should be in paper writings is because
this kind of action can avoid the writer from being accused as guilty for plagiarism which is
they took the other’s original work and recognized them as their own work.

The reasons why people plagiarize is because of they are lack of knowledge regarding the
information that available nowadays, citing sources and also due to they have no confidence
in their ability to write a paperwork. There are several basic forms of plagiarism in writing
paper which is exact of copying a source word-for-word with no credit given to the
responsible owner or creator. The lack of knowledge about the information available around
us has often lead us to the wrongdoings of plagiarism. Secondly, People like borrowing other
written materials from other authors in which they turn in a paper that someone else has
written. The next one is medley which can be describes as an action of copying of a
resource using a few words here and there and not providing credit to the owner or creator.

4.0 ARRANGEMENT

For this assignment, we arrange all material accordingly based on alphabetically order by
using American Psychological Association’s style (APA) for its citation. Alphabetical order is
method of sorting in which objects are arranged according to the order that the letters of their
name or another important characteristic appear in an alphabet. We used this citation’s style
because APA style typically provide clarity to text on often complex topics. It also makes
easy to organize in research and the reader easily find information that is important for
evaluating research

IMC406 Library Skills Compiling Bibliography

5.0 INTRODUCTION FORMAT OF CITATION

For this assignment, we have been assigned to use American Psychological Association
(APA) style or Modern Language Association (MLA) style. Below is an explanation of the two
formats with example:

a) AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION (APA)

APA format is the official style used by the American Psychological Association
and it is commonly used in psychology, education, and other social science. The
actual edition is 7th revision. Primarily known for the simplicity of its reference
citation style, the Manual also established standards for language use that had
far-reaching effects APA style uses the author/date method of citation in which
the author's last name and the year of the publication are inserted in the actual
text of the paper.

Example of APA style:

Author’s Last name, Initials. (Year). Title (italicized). Place of Publication:

Publisher.

Willer, D. (2020). What is Library Management?. Boston, MA: Morgiana s.

b) MODERN LANGUAGE ASSOCIATION (MLA)

MLA style refers the style recommended by the Modern Language Association

(MLA) for preparing scholarly manuscripts and student research papers. It
concerns itself with the mechanics of writing, such as punctuation, quotation,
and, especially, documentation of sources.

Example of MLA style:

Author’s last, First Name. Title (italicized). Publisher. Date

6.0 LANGUAGE OF MATERIAL

For this assignment, we are using English Language for researching and find the source
since most bibliographies has been produced in Overseas. We hope that this
bibliographies can use by researches, teachers and advanced students as it will help
anyone to find material for particular purpose

7.0 LEVEL OF BIBLIOGRAPHIES

This assignment aims for this bibliography as a reference and to determine the
appropriate resources within the topic of tourism management. It also helps us to
understand the way the audience put references to the information sources. It also helps
us to find or create ideas from the work of the author. It is important to put detail,
references to the sources that we find.

8.0 LIMITATION AND PROBLEM

In order to complete this assignment, there are few difficulties that we have been
through and we manage to finish the task given. The major limitation and problem are
the limited resources that we could find in PTAR Library. This makes us to find other
options like we try to find resources about or topic in other library catalogues. Some of
the materials that we find do not all the details that we want. This makes us to expand
our search in order to get all the details.

THE IMPORTANCE OF RURAL COMMUNITIES’ PARTICIPATION IN THE

Summary:

Like every other sector, rural tourism needs to be handled. One significant aspect of the
management of rural tourism is to concentrate explicitly on local people's involvement.
Tourism engagement by locals is commonly referred to as functional management and
can be used as part of strategic management (Mason, 2008). Mason further argues that
the management of tourism is often concerned with ways of handling tourism resources,
the interaction of tourists with physical resources and the interaction of tourists with
tourist residents. This element of tourism management primarily discusses the effects of
tourism on its growth.

TOURISM PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

Summary:

Tourism, as the world's largest industry, has the potential to help solve the main
challenges facing many parts of the globe and can thus be a positive and negative
power. If tourism's costs and benefits are known from the outset, it is possible to
optimize strengths and opportunities while mitigating vulnerabilities and risks. In terms of
their tourism characteristics, each tourism planning situation would be distinct. Tourism
costs and benefits will differ across destinations, and these may change over time,
depending on the local and regional context of tourism and other activities. This book
offers an insight into the exciting world of tourism and provides an extensive tour, with
attention to planning and management.

10.0 CONCLUSION

The reference source, in conclusion, consists of different kinds, styles and formats.
There is a way for each reference source to cite in APA style. The best way to quote is
to find out what kind of resource you have, then use the resource manual of the APA to
check for those sources and enter the reference source bibliographic information
according to the format of the APA. To ensure the bibliography entered is correct and
accurate, we must be careful in using and placing punctuation, writing styles, relevant
subjects and forms of reference sources.

In addition, by using books, websites, databases and other sources, this assignment
taught us how to search for information sources of different forms. We also learn to
interpret the data whether we are connected to the topic we chose or not. We also
recognize the importance of information literacy in finding the right data.
