Course Goals
The goal of this course is to master the fundamentals of data communications
networks by gaining a working knowledge of data transmission concepts,
learning the methods used for line control and line sharing, understanding the
operation of physical and data link protocols, learn the operation of the
Ethernet protocols that enable hosts to communicate over Local Area
Networks and the operation of the IP protocol that enables hosts to
communicate over the Internet. Learning network performance techniques,
and understanding the concepts and operation of local and IP-based
networks.
