1 Art

Yes, I like art very much.I often watch some TV programs or read magazines about art in my
spare time, which is a good form of relaxation.

-Do you think art classes are necessary? (why)?


Yes.Art classes are super important especially for teenagers, because art can promote
imagination and creativity, which is beneficial to their growth.

-How do you think art classes affect children’s development?


I think that children can have a better understanding of this world through learning art. In
addition to this, art classes can make them more creative which is important to their lives.

-What kind of paintings do Chinese people like?


Many Chinese people like landscape paintings because we can enjoy the beauty of nature
through these paintings. We often put this kind of paintings on the wall which can make the
house look artistically decorated.

-What can you learn from western paintings?


Some western paintings reflect the real lives of foreign people, so I’m able to learn more
about wonderful western cultures through western paintings which is very meaningful to me.

-What benefits can you get from painting as a hobby?


There are several benefits. For me, painting is a good form of relaxation as well as a perfect
way of releasing pressure. I often paint something when I’m in a bad mood.

2 Water sport

-What activities would you do if you were spending some leisure time at a beach or near the
ocean?
I would love to take a walk along the beach and enjoy the beauty of the sea. As a seafood
lover, I also love to enjoy the delicious seafood at the beach after my walk.

-Why do some people like water sports?


In my opinion, there are two reasons which make water sports so popular. Firstly, water sports
are very exciting; secondly, people enjoy the feeling of playing in the water which helps them
release pressure from work or study.

-Do you think the government should invest money in developing facilities for water sports?
Yes indeed. Water sports are good exercises to keep locals healthy which eventually reduce
their medical needs. These facilities may also attract visitors and boost the local economy.

-Do you think that human activity is posing a threat to the oceans of the world?
I would consider this statement positive. Human activities have been producing enormous
amount of rubbish; some of this rubbish have been thrown into the water which have
polluted and damaged the marine ecosystems.

-What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling on the ocean?
Positive side of travelling on the ocean would be the feeling of freedom and the enormous
sense of joy. The disadvantages of this would be the dangers, both from the ocean and the
horrible marine creatures such as sharks.

-Do you think it’s important for children to learn how to swim?
I think it is very important for children to learn swimming. Firstly, it is a basic survival skill in our
life; secondly, they can have fun with other kids and make more friends through this activity.

3 Science
-Do you like science?
Yes I like science which is very fascinating to me. Because science reveals the secrets
of the nature.

- Are there many science museums in your hometown?


There is only one science museum in my hometown. I go there about once or twice a year with my
parents, which increases my knowledge about this world.

-Did you like science classes when you were young?


Not really. I thought they were very complicated and tedious. However my science teacher Mr
Qian was a responsible guy.

-Do you think science is important to your society?


Absolutely.Science reveals the relationship between nature and human life.What’s more
research in science has paved a path to many brilliant inventions and discoveries.

-Do you have a favourite number or a number that is special to you?
Yes, my favourite number is... because it's the day I was born on, and it's my
lucky number.

-Do any numbers have special importance in your country?


Yes, certain ages are special. For example, your 18th birthday is important because it's when you
are considered to become an adult.

-Are you good at remembering numbers? Why / why not?


No, I'm not very good at remembering numbers. I don't think it's necessary to learn them by
heart; I just save them on my phone.

-What numbers do people often have to memorise?


The most important number to remember on a daily basis is the pin number for
your bank card. Without this you can't pay for anything or get cash out.
5 Running

-Do you like to go running ?


Yes I like walking very much. I often go out for a running with my classmate in the local
stadium. For me, it is definitely a good form of relaxation.

-Do you like to go for running on your own or with others?


I prefer running with others especially a couple of close friends because I enjoy the sense of
participating the competition when I’m taking part in running game, otherwise I may feel very
bored.

-Would you say that your city is a good place for running ?
Yes I would say so. There are several wondeful places for walking such as stadium and a long
street very close to where I live. I’m more likely to walk in the stadium where the athletic track
is more suitable.

6 Parks
-Does your hometown have many parks?(Are there many gardens in china?
yes there are a lot of parks in my home town where both young and old spend their leisure
time we can breathe fresh air and experience a natural environment ,the government built a
lot of parks because the city is mostly filled with buildings this parks will serve as a place for
relaxation that’s why there are a lot of parks in my home town.

-What do you think are the benefits of having gardens in the city?
i think the benefits of having gardens in the city are first it is helpful to reduce air pollution
,because of the trees, flowers and plants in the garden and it makes the environment look
good especially now that the city is filled with buildings those are just some of the benefits a
garden can have in a city.

-Do you often visit public parks?


yes i often visit public parks because it is near my home i can pass by the park to go to the
department store aside from that and i always bring my grandma to this park for her to relax and
unwind that’s why i often go the public parks.

-What do you usually do there?


i usually just sit in the park to see the beautiful environment and breathe fresh air my mother
always tell me to look at green trees and grasses which makes my eye sight better that’s
what i do whenever i go to the park.

-Do you think you will go to parks more often in the future?
absolutely no because now a days i prefer staying at home just to watch movie and play
computer games ,one thing more is that i find parks a little bit boring that’s why I prefer
choose staying at home.
7 Cake

-Do you like dessert?


Of course, xx is one of my favorite desserts I've eaten since I was a child, my habit is to eat the
cream first take it with my fingers and finally eat the dough, this is really delicious . well, it is
made from sweet yeast dough fried in fat or oil, filling with crema and is added powdered
sugar or conventional sugar on top.

-Do you like eating cakes?


Yes I like cake pastries and all chocolates and may be you don’t know more about cakes but
i also know better then you because i’m always crazy for cakes like the wedding cake.

-What desserts do Chinese people like?


I think the most popular dessert is “tanghulu” well, the "Chinese toffee apple" is an old
Beijing-style snack consisting of a skewer with crabapples dipped in liquid sugar and dried.

-Have you ever made cakes?


Well, I think the process of making cakes is so complex. It would not only need you to prepare
many ingredients, but also do the good management of bating time and heat control.

8 Pen and pencil

-Do you usually use pen and pencil ?


Neither, Most of my assignment has to be done digitally, and I also find that it’s more efficient to
type out long essays, opposed to sitting and having to write it in longhand with a fountain pen.

-Which do you use more often?


When I was a kid, I always use a mechanical pencil to do homework. The same was true when I was
in high school.But I merely use pen or pencil to finish essay during the university life.

-When was the last time you bought a pen or  pencil?


Last month, I bought a well-designed pen for my cousin as his birthday gift. In my country’s

-Do you like (to learn about) history?


Yeah. I like to learn about history. It’s full of fun things to learn. You can see what life
is like in different periods of time. Besides, you’ll know a lot of great figures in history as
well as their anecdotes.

-What historical event do you find most interesting?


To me, I think the most interesting historical event is when Columbus found the new
continent. This event now has aroused different opinions among researchers and
scholars.
Some people say it has a positive meaning because it promotes the communication and
exchanges between different people. While others hold that it actually causes the plunder
and evil behaviors.

-What historical event do you think was most important?


For China, I think the most important event was the reform and open policy in 1978.
After that, the Chinese economy has witnessed a huge leap and development. Until now, it is
still under good condition.

Definitely! History is rather important because it tells where we are from. Like what
Francis Bacon has said “histories make men wise”, we could always dig out some
enlightenments and experiences from learning about history.

-Do you like to watch programs on TV abouthistory?


Yes, I often watch TV programs related with history, like documentaries. With audio
explanations and vivid pictures, the history seems to be easier to approach. It’s really a
useful medium for me to know more about history.

Yes, my name in Chinese means "excellent" ,because my aunt want me to lead an
excellent job in the future.

Yes, I do like my name very much. My name was given by my aunt and it carries a
very good meaning, which means excellent.

No. First, I like my name very much, and I don't feel it necessary to change my name.
Second, name is just a small part of me; so it doesn't matter.

In general, parents will give the children the name, but sometimes, grandparents or

I'm an manager in a private company in Huizhou , which provides training course of children.
My job involves make plan to design the course , it is important for the company.

I chose to be a manager in a training company, because I majored in education when i
was in the college. What's more, the job suits my character and my interest.

Frankly speaking, Chinese people live in the house and there is also no exception to me. It is a house
with 4 floors , 9 bedrooms, one kitchen, and a sitting-room as well.

Well, I've been living with my grandparents, parents , brother and younger sister in our house since I
was a child. This year, my grandparents moved to a apartment with my uncle.

3.Do you plan to live there for a longtime?


Definitely! I will not plan to live my house for a long time , because it is inconvenient for
me to go to the center of the city, i have to spend a lot of time to the shopping mall or library.

I live in a private house which has 4 floors ,and we have a garage at the back of the house.
There are 4 floors in the house, the first floor is a clothing shop .

Of course it's the dining room! In great love of food, everyone in my family all like to eat different of
snacks and share interesting stories from our work.

Normally, I invite my friends to my study room for sharing interesting books, a film or a song in which

Thanks to the location, the transport ways are enough for traveling. The nearby metro line can reach the

You know, it's quite hard to say because different residents give you different feelings but if I have to
pick one, I would like to live in a flat as flats are usually situated in downtown so I wouldn't be

If I only have three words, I would say: vigor, warm and comfortable. Actually I myself renovated my
bedroom last year and decorated it later. Now the soft bed, large book shelves embedded into the wall
and the computer desk are three places which I spend most of mytime.

It's Hangzhou. Hangzhou is really a special place, well with a long history and great plants and trees. It
provides a favorable living atmosphere. It has a number of tourist attractions, like the West Lake which
attracts thousands of tourists everyyear.

Well, actually, it's a real big place and for me, living in a big city will be a great choice, really active and
energetic. I feel relaxed and excited living in Hangzhou as it provides a range of entertainment facilities.
Apart from that, it has great infrastructure, like a lot of supermarkets and shopping malls.

Well, the most thing about my hometown is that it has a number of scenic spots, like the Weak Lake,

For more than ten years, I guess. I moved from Suzhou Province to Hangzhou when I was a little girl.

Well, transportation is a tough one. Transport is really a headache in Hangzhou. With the increase in
private cars, roads have to hold heavy traffic. It is extremely terrible during the rush hour, you know

Sure, the future of my hometown will be promising. With the sprawl of the city, it will turn into a really
modernized city, like Shanghai. And it will attract more investment from people home and abroad so as
to be a better place forliving.

14 tea or coffee

-Which do you prefer, tea of coffee?

The tea is my best choice, the main reason is that it can be mixed with other herbal ingredients,
adding various taste for it. I prefer to have a cup of tea with some piece of lemon and chrysanthemum.

-Do you serve tea of coffee when visitors to your home coming?
Based on the Chinese tradition, for guests, serving tea may be the advisable way. For
the simple is that this behavior will show your compliment and full respect to that guys who visit
your home.

1. What kind of holiday do you like?
I try to avoid tourist traps … I like to get away from it all and prefer going somewhere off
the beaten track … last year I had the holiday of a lifetime … a two week wildlife safari in
Kenya.

2. What do you like to do when you’re onholiday?


I enjoy visiting the local places of interest … I like to go sightseeing and always sign up for
guided tours as it’s a chance to be shown around and take photographs … one of my hobbies.

Yes … we have a lot of holiday resorts along the coast that are popular with tourists … most
people come on package holidays and stay in one of the many hotels and self-catering
apartments.

1. What times in your life do you need to concentrate on doing something?


Usually during the work time, but it is not realistic to keep concentration for the entire 8
hours, so actually I used to select the most severe problem to solve from my clients without
any distractions.

2. Does your job require concentrating and attention to detail?


Yes, my realistic job is the financial manager. So, when I’m working for my clients, I really
have to think carefully about every detail of the system, because once it’s online operating, it
will influence business fundamentally.

3. Is it difficult/easy to concentrate? (Why?)


Yes, I think so. I can not concentrate on something I am not into. I remembered once
I watched Beijing opera with my parents and my mind totally flied away cause I couldn’t
understand a word.

4. What type of environment do you need to work peacefully?


Honestly speaking, I don’t believe we can pay attention to two things at the same time
because one task may be distracted by the other one, and finally we will probably end up
with nothing accomplished.

1.How long have you kept your hairstyle?
Well. It all depends on my mood and preference, but I will do haircut once a
month, because I think that Regular haircuts help keep my hair strong and healthy

2.Have you ever had a bad haircut?


Of course ,I do have a bad haircut when I was in middle school. At that time, every student
were forced to keep the “brush cut” style, which was so bad for me. But I think that everyone
has a bad haircut once in their life time so there is nothing to worry about.

-Do you often listen to music?
Yes I do. I treat listening to music as a kind of leisure activity and I often listen to
some beatiful music on the internet or through TV programs.

-When do you listen to music?


I often listen to music after school or when I’m in a low spirit. I think listening to music
is a perfect way of releasing pressure and it has become an important part of my life.

-How much time do you spend listening to music every day?


I spend 2 or 3 hours listening to music every day and I love to share some fantastic
music with my close friends or family members. Listening to music especially some
romantic music often brings me a lot of joy.

-What kinds of music do you like to listen to?


I prefer pop music and I often listen to this kind of music deep in the night before I go to bed.
It often helps me to have a sound sleep.

-When did you start to listen to this kind of music?


I attended a music class about several years ago and my teacher Mr showed us a piece
of pop music called “good time” which sounded great, since then I fell in love with this
kind of music.
