Activities T7: Climate

1. Write T if the sentences are true or F if the sentences are false.

It is possible for atmospheric weather to change within the same day.

Rain falls in a gas state.

Rain and snow are in a solid state but hail is not.

It must be very cold to snow and hail, but it does not have to be cold
to rain.

A breeze is a strong wind, but a gale and hurricane are not strong
winds.

Climate depends on four factors.

When a place is closer to the Poles it is very hot.

In places closer to the sea, there are extreme temperatures all year.

A pluviometer tells us how much hail there is during a certain time

of year.

A weather vane consists of an arrow, four directionals and an

anemometer.

The number of turns the anemometer takes tells us how fast the wind
is blowing.

At the end of spring the nights are longer than the days.

It is common for flowers and fruits to appear in the spring.

Fruits are not ripe in the summer but there are many insects.
At the end of spring, the nights become shorter and the days become
longer

Deciduous trees keep their leaves all year.

After the longest day of the year, the hours of sunlight increase.

There are few animals in winter because they migrate and hibernate

In winter, deciduous trees have no leaves, but there are many ripe
fruits and flowers.
