couldn’t begin. The poem contains a message indirectly dedicated to a girl with whom the
author is in love.

B. Why do I like it?

The poem Dead Stars is a catchy poem with an interesting title that introduces a very puzzling
meaning. It delivered its message with a smooth rhythm despite the uneven meter. In addition,
what I like the most in this literary piece is its symbolism and use of metaphors. For instance,
from the line “And worshiped Venus instead of Mars”, the planet Venus is a representation of
love while Mars signifies power.
