Try out and Revision

After the completion of the project, the researchers will test the actual operation of the
tracking system and will make necessary revisions or improvements.

Validation of Instrument
According to Golafhani (2003), validity is defined as the degree to which a measuring
instrument is capable of achieving its aims, whether or not it measures what it intends to
measure. Each item in the questionnaire was subjected to “validity by means of subject for the
jury method.” The accomplished questionnaire will be presented to the researchers’ adviser for
comments and corrections and then to the experts for its content validation.
Using the criteria developed for evaluating survey questionnaire set forth by Carter V.
Good and Douglas B. Scates, the researchers will ask three (3) teachers with master’s degree to
evaluate the survey instrument for determining the acceptability of the tracking system in terms
of its function and aesthetics.
Criteria for Validity 1 2 3 4 5
1. This questionnaire is short enough and respondents respect it and would
not drain much of their precious time.
2. The questionnaire is interesting and has the face appeal such that
respondents will be induced to respond to it and accomplish it fully.
3. The questionnaire can obtain some depth to respondents and avoid
superficial answers.
4. The items/questions and their alternative responses are not too suggestive
and not too stimulating.
5. The questionnaire can obtain responses which are definite but not
mechanically forced.
6. Questions/items are stated in such a way that the responses will not be
embarrassing to the person/persons concerned.
7. Questions/items are formed in such a manner as to avoid doubt on the
part of the respondents.
8. The questionnaire is not to narrow nor restrictive nor limited in its
philosophy.
9. The responses to the questionnaire when taken as a whole, could answer
the basic purpose for which the questionnaire is designed and therefore
considered valid.

Data Collection
• Ten (10) trials each will be executed in testing the accuracy of the tracking system and its
response time in analyzing the code and providing data output.
• For testing the accuracy of the function of the tracking system if in a trial, the tracking
system functions properly (analyze the code, provide data output) then it will be noted ‘correct’.
Otherwise, improper functions such as delay will be noted ‘incorrect’ .
• For testing the response time of the tracking system, a timer will be used to measure the
response time in seconds. Response time of the tracking system refers to how long does it take to
react or perform its function (analyze the code, provide data output) after the QR code is placed
in front of the scanner.
• For evaluating the acceptability of the tracking system in terms of its functionality and
aesthetics, the researchers will let the five (5) participants who are master teachers in Negros
Occidental High School to evaluate the tracking system. The researchers will survey them
according to the survey instrument that was formulated and validated. Each respondent will be
given a chance to manipulate the tracking system to test the function guided by the researchers.
Questions will also be entertained in order to clarify certain areas for improvement. On the next
page is the survey instrument.

Dear Respondent,
The purpose of this survey is for you to evaluate the acceptability of our Document
Tracking System using Dynamic QR Code of Class Records of Teachers in terms of its function
and aesthetics. Just answer the following as what you have seen, observed, and experienced. The
researchers would really appreciate your evaluation regardless if it is good or bad. Thank you so
much.

Ethical Consideration
The researchers will meet the participants personally and explain to them what the study
is all about and the requirement of their participation. The participants will be informed with the
protocols in accordance with the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of the
American Psychological Association (2016). These comprise the purpose of the research, its
expected duration, and the nature of any interventions/experiments; probable risks and benefits
of participation and the reasonable alternatives to participation in the research protocol,
confidentiality provisions relating to the research records, any compensation and/or treatment
available for research related injuries and the right to not participate and to discontinue
participation at any time without penalty.
