Upload Request When Replacing APowertrain Control Module

(PCM)

Ford Motor Company engineering uses Integrated Diagnostic System(IDS) session

file data provided by Dealer technicians to improve Powertrain Control/Emissions
Diagnosis (PCED) diagnostic routines. Engineering is requesting that Dealer
technicians save and upload IDS session file data when performing vehicle
diagnosticroutines that lead to PCM replacement in order to continually improve
vehicle diagnostics and product quality. Please review the “How to Send an IDS
Session File Containing Recordings†Job Aid on the Professional Technician
Society (PTS) under Service Tips for further information on uploading vehicle
sessions. This process is quick and easy to perform and will greatly assist
engineering in the improvement of current and future diagnostic procedures.
