1. Read the following passage and notice the differences between

the two texts. After that, answer True and false.

Today is a great day. I am on a trip with my family.

We are at the beach all the time. My parents are
happy because they are not at work. My sister is in
the sea the whole morning. The water is cold but I
am not in it for a long time. It is hot and my brother
isn’t very Smart – he doesn’t use suncream, so he is
getting burnt!

Was and were correspond to the verb “be” in the past.

According to the text we can see that we use

WERE (past) as a WAS (past) as a

replacement of ARE replacement of AM and
IS
