Past simple II: was/were review and

regular verbs!
1. First, we will review what we learned in our last workshop. For this game, you need to play with
your sister!

INSTUCTIONS FOR THE GAME


1. Players put their counters on the square marked START and throw the dice
2. The first player to throw a SIX starts the game
3. Player A throws the dice and moves along the board according to the number on the dice
4. If player A lands on a square with a (?), player B reads out one of the facts from his/her list (On the next page).
Player A has to say if the affirmation is true or false. If the answer is not correct, then Player A misses next turn.
5. Remember the use of the ladders and the snakes: if you land on the base of a ladder, you go up, but if you land
on the head of a snake, you go back to the tail of the snake.
6. The first player arriving to the finish line, wins.
7. While you are playing, you should take notes about what affirmation do you do to your partner if she lands on and
interrogation mark (?). This should be send to the teacher with the result of the game.
2. Reading – Was/were
3. Now that you new the last story of a trip to new york, you will tell us about
the best trip you have had in your life. Follow the categories in the picture and
try to make a narrative text similar to the Reading, but with your own
experience.

4. Finally, that we learned the meaning of WAS and WERE, I would like to ask you: what
happens to the other verbs?! Ok, with the other verbs apart from “be”(was/were), we
have two groups. These groups are know as REGULAR and IRREGULAR verbs, but this
time, we will have an introduction to the regular verbs.
