Proposal No. 1 Hydroponics and Aquaponics

Enterprise Idea

The Goals and The Objectives

Our project’s goal is to promote SDG #8 (decent work and economic growth)
which Grow QC wants to show the possible chances to have decent means of
livelihood of Urban Agriculture and founding Food system within the society. The
next one is to promote SDG #2 (zero hunger), Bob Marley once mentioned that “A
hungry man is an angry man” Food is one of the most essential things in life after air
and water, this only shows that food is important for living and it is necessary for us
to have it on our own yard. And lastly SDG #3 (Good health and well-being) which
when lockdown started, every city within the country some establishments forced to
shut down and stop their operations, many people lost their jobs many opportunities
have missed. We as young entrepreneurs would like to promote this livelihood
program wherein; we are encouraging everyone to engage themselves into urban
farming. Since we are facing new normal and in the early weeks of lockdown there
are many supplies of fruits and vegetable went to waste due to the travel restriction
that has been implemented, we don’t want that to happen again. Mistake has been
done, we would like to prevent it from happening again by the means of being able
to have our own agriculture farm and to produce our own supply in the city.

And the main objective of this product is to promote urban farming within the
society and also to help our community to become more literate and educated with
this kind of process when it comes to planting. Aside from that, we are also
promoting a safer way of processing natural vegetables, as we thought vegetables
and fruits that we are consuming are safe or healthy to consume. It may look like it is,
farmers do put a lot of fertilizer, pesticides, and insecticides; they're being sprayed
on vegetables to prevent them from pests that may damage the whole farm and its
vegetable that will produce.

Those Fertilizers, pesticide and insecticides aren’t good for our body, specifically
to our health. Pesticides have been implicated in human studies of leukemia,
lymphoma and cancers of the brain, breasts, prostate, testes and ovaries.
Reproductive harm from pesticides includes birth defects, still birth, spontaneous
abortion, sterility and infertility.
1
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

The Philosophy

The value proposition of this product is;

Gains
- We can produce safer fruits and vegetables
- People in the society will become more aware of this type of this agriculture
Product and services
- We will provide seminars to people or every barangay to teach how to operate
Pains
- Not every one in the society is literate with this kind of process of planting
It’ll cost so much space and budget.

The Problem at Hand

Green House – As we are proposing agriculture program, we need to build a green

house where we could put our system to process various vegetables and fruits.

Location – As we build our green house, we also need a spacious location where
we can build our green house.

Budget – Our proposed project will cost much effort and budget from the green
house to the seeds and even the tiniest part of our project.

Supplies – We are having some difficulties in supplies due to various of seeds that
we are thinking to do so as, along with the materials that we will be needing in
building the system itself.

The Solution

Green house – As we are planning to build our green house, we asked for help for
the sample and the future dimension our green house to be 3m x 4m

Location – together with Agri-QC we were given the permission to build the green
house at the San Francisco campus.

2
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

Budget – we will be bringing our proposal to BCDPO Pangkabuhayang QC and QC

PESO, to help us with our financials.

Supplies – as of now, we will have a supplier by the materials that we will be

needing from Malabon.

Marketing Concept

Product
Hydroponics and Aquaponics. They stay up with contemporary planting
technology, so we may adapt it and be inventive. We will advertise and promote
the product. Hydroponic farming is seen positively by fish producers. a method of
bio filtration to make living simpler Aquaculture with a high rate of Re circulation.
Aquaponics is thought to be a way for greenhouse growers to promote organic
products. since the only fertile input is hydroponic product into the marker is fish
feed, and all nutrients go through a biological process.

Price
The initial price will range from P27,000 to P60,000. Depending on the system
and feature sizes. If you are searching for urban household, semi-commercial, or
commercial farms that will be profitable, this is a wonderful choice to consider.

Place
Local Government / Barangay will be our target market. Council should
implement a Sustainable Livelihoods Program in their communities. We may also
start a company as Entrepreneur Students by producing and selling fish and
vegetables. For example, basil and mint, as well as fish and shellfish, can be
marketed and sold in grills or restaurants.

Promotion
Our project proposal, Hydroponics and Aquaponics helps the environment and
provides employment and food to all. Our project proposal is not just for us, we are
doing it so that we can encourage more people to help with planting and do this kind
of planting work. To promote our project, we will give sustainable livelihood
programs to prevent hunger, food security and provide employment to those in need
and thereby uplift the environment and help our agriculture. We will also show
3
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

examples of plants harvested from here and we will explain and every detail from it
to further encourage them to learn to identify the modern planting technology.

People
We are the researchers who will conducted and implement this project. There is
also the specialist in different aspect in agriculture who will support us and they give
as to have Community Immersion to give trainings and share their skills that will
knowledge to us.

Physical Evidence
Our leader asks for permission directly to the San Francisco Campus Director,
Sir. Nelson Lazare and were allowed into our business plan venue. And if we are
short of the budget that we will need, our leader applies for Cash Assistance for
Agriculture. Also, our materials are not very expensive because what we will use is
recyclable materials and there is a working team that made it so we will implement
and manage it ourselves.

Materials:

 2 Diameter PVC Pipe - it is drilled to hold the plant and it is also the source of
water to irrigate the plant.

 Rubber hose – it will start the flow of water from the plastic tank, from the
beginning and back to the plastic tank.

 Spaghetti hose - This is where the nutrient solutions flow to those plants.

 Plastic tank - Water storage and Aquaponics equipment that will hold fish and
help provide fertilizer to plants.

 Galvanized iron pipe - It will serve as a foundation, to place the handles,

hangers and also to place the plants to be planted.

 35 Watts submersible pump

 Broken slippers - To cover both holes of the pipe

 And other recyclable materials that we need.

4
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

Process

This techniques support crop production all year around when practiced in a
controlled environment, like a plants market that can be placed in our product, this
ultimately assists farmers in having greater control over production and the ability to
increase yields with more flexibility during pandemic condition. Aquaponics and
Hydroponics can also help farmers to produce or supply their needs, under their
control.

In these process we think that we can show them via live in our Facebook page
on how our product can easily use in order to provide their needs based in
aquaponics and Hydroponics system that we created. We can place it in a market to
show them the most common method of soil-less culture in our product, which
includes growing plants either on a substrate or in an aqueous medium with bare
roots.

Productivity and Quality

In the Productivity from both Aquaponics and Hydroponics farming can be

achieved in approximately 10% of the land area and 5% of the water volume
required for crop production.

One of the benefits of Aquaponics is that it makes it possible to have an

intensive food production system that's still sustainable, and also encompasses two
agricultural products like "fish and vegetables" being produced from one nitrogen
And the Hydroponics system end the unpredictability of growing plants outdoors,
without the mechanical resistance of the soil, seedings can mature much faster. By
eliminating pesticides, hydroponics produces much healthier and high-quality fruits
and vegetables.

Capital Outlay P270,000
Total P400,000
The total capital needed for our
business would be P400,000 for the operation, product expense, supplies,
equipment, utilities and other necessities.

Sources of Start-Up Capital

We will utilize our own money as a start-up capital while beginning a firm since
our sources of cash will come from our own investment. It also demonstrates to
potential investors that we are prepared to invest and take a chance. We can also
work with government entities that give funding in the form of grants and subsidies
that may be accessible to our company. We can also utilize 'love money,' which is
money borrowed from a spouse, parents, family, or friends. This money will be
returned when our company's profits grow. Because we are a group of young
entrepreneurs, our sources of capital will come from our own pockets and from
government agencies that will provide financing in the form of grants and subsidies,
such as the DTI's "Go Negosyo Center" program, which facilitates the promotion of
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises by providing small amounts of money to
those who want to start a business.

Proposal No. 2 Synthetic Paper Made From Recycled Plastic Packaging

Enterprise Idea

The Goals and The Objectives

The goal of this product proposal, "Synthetic Paper Made from Recycled Plastic
Packaging," is to create a new type of sustainable and environmentally friendly
product labeling. Our team hopes that our proposed product will be one of the most
long-lasting on the market. We hope that by creating Synthetic Paper, we will be
able to reduce the excessive waste of plastic packaging, as our generation has
become increasingly reliant on plastics.

To effectively develop our proposed product, our team will be separated into
groups that will facilitate various tasks. One group will be in charge of collecting
plastic waste which they can organize a donation drive, while another will be
responsible in disseminating information about our proposal through social media
platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Furthermore, another group will contribute to
the search for partners with whom we can execute the production of our proposal,
which means we will need to locate companies or factories that can provide
machineries suitable for our product proposal.

The Philosophy

The fundamental reason for introducing "Synthetic Paper Made from Recycled
Plastic Packaging" is that we can produce something without harming the
environment. We must quit degrading our environment and begin developing
environmentally friendly items. In a complex and dynamic environment, we want to
focus on creating a product that embraces adverse trends while practicing
sustainability. We seek to promote conscious consumerism and consumption for we
believe that this will lead to more sustainable behavior.

The Problem at Hand

Our potential customer, who we believe is primarily from the printing industry,
may be having trouble maintaining the quality of their prints over time. We'll make it
8
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

easier to find the proper paper quality for the finest possible printing results. It will be
essential for them to help guide in the field of printing services in order to make print
quality as long-lasting as possible without compromising cost

The Solution

The purpose of "Synthetic Paper Made from Recycled Plastic Packaging" is to

reduce the amount of waste produced by plastic packaging. The problem of
environmental degradation will be resolved by developing such a sustainable
product. Furthermore, it will benefit the printing industry in producing prints that are
both efficient and long-lasting. Because it will transform a harmful material into
something that is sustainable and efficient, this product idea targets the 12th
Sustainable Development Goal, Responsible Consumption and Production.
Furthermore, we expect that our production process and consumption will lead to
more sustainable practices. The inspiration for this product proposal comes from
everyone's current condition of being reliant on buying online. As a result, we are
dealing with a new problem: the growing waste of plastic packaging. When we
looked at the scenario, we saw an opportunity to create something out of plastic
packaging while also encouraging sustainability. We came up with "Synthetic Paper
Made from Recycled Plastic Packaging" after a thorough discussion of the concept.

Marketing Concept

Product

Our product is mainly made from plastic waste materials, specifically plastic
packaging (like the ones used in online shopping such as Shopee and Lazada);
where we can make a synthetic paper. It can hold a product label than the usual
paper that we use for printing. Compared to other plastic packaging, the print on
synthetic paper can be long lasting and can’t be easily scratched or erase neither
washed. Unlike labeling that was printed in paper bags or sticker paper, our product
holds the label more likely to become waterproof than other labeling. Our product
can also help in reducing the excessive waste of plastic packaging that can cause
environmental problems.
9
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

Price

The price range of our product depends on its sizes. And we come up to the
idea that we will sell it by packed of 20. The small size is “8.5 x 11” (Letter) and we
can sell it by ₱35.50 / pack. The medium size is “8.27 x 11.69” (A4), the price is
₱45.50 / pack. And lastly, the large size is “8.5 x 14” (Legal) which cost ₱52.50 /
pack.

Place

We can distribute our product through physical store and online websites. In
physical store, we can be supplier in the different bookstores. And in online, we can
create a website where they can find our products and order online. In here, our
main target is the printing industry who have trouble in maintaining quality of their
prints.

Promotion

 Printing of Business Cards

 Creating a Facebook/Instagram page, on which the team can post information,

offers, photos and other details about the product

 Distributing promotional merchandise

 Word-of-mouth

 Hosting a webinar

 Listing of the product on online marketplaces (Lazada/Shopee)

People

The groups that are directly related to the business are:

 The donors (people in the community) of plastic waste

 The partner companies/factories that will be in-charge with the whole

production process of the product
10
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

 The Group 2 team that will manage daily operations such as obtaining working
capital, receiving orders, packaging and storing finished products, getting the word
out about the product, among others.

Physical Evidence

 There is a need of a facility and machineries where the production shall

undergo (hence the need of a partner in the production industry)

 Plastic waste packaging, mostly from online deliveries and other source (main
component of the product)

Process

We have a convenient location where we can manufacture synthetic paper with

plastic packaging. In this process, we should assign a task or activities to complete
the following steps on this output. We follow this in order to produce synthetic paper,
and we begin by approaching some machinery or a factory. Then, when we were
fortunate enough to come across a machine that could make it, our group created a
Facebook page to sell it live or broadcast it to show it to the followers or a large
number of people the innovation in synthetic paper with plastic packaging.

Productivity and Quality

To attain our objectives, our team works smarter in terms of activities, services,
and how they are presented in live selling. Synthetic papers are utilized in any
application that requires long-term durability. They're water-resistant,
chemical-resistant, and abrasion-proof. Synthetic paper has several advantages
and benefits over regular paper, including resistance to yellowing and a significantly
longer shelf life. Synthetic paper is utilized in a wide range of applications where
strength and weather resistance are required.

Sources of Start-Up Capital

We can ask for some sources in Recycling Technologies. This company

appealed to me since it came from a global environmental concern. They believe
that a mix of technology, ingenuity, and dedication can make a significant difference
in today's environment. They believe that plastic is a terrific material and an
important part of the solution to lowering our carbon footprint, and they live by the
phrase "reduce, reuse, recycle.". Barangay Micro Business Enterprise The
government signed the Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) Law in2002,
recognizing that microbusinesses keep many communities functioning, particularly
in distant and suburban areas. Microentrepreneurs in the Philippines benefit from
the provisions of this law, which provide incentives to help them run their tiny
companies.

Proposal No. 3 Mushroom Coffee

Enterprise Idea

The Goals and The Objectives

Our main goal here is to promote good health and well- being. Mushroom coffee
is high in antioxidants, which might help your immune system. When compared to a
regular coffee bean, it contains less caffeine. That’s why people who drink this may
feel less worried and sleep better as a result of this. It's now a superior alternative to
our normal coffee, with numerous benefits not only for our bodies but also for the
environment.

To successfully achieve our proposed product, our team will be divided into 3
groups. One is responsible for finding tools and equipment which will be needed to
further develop our product such as finding suppliers, ingredients and techniques to
make our product easier to manufacture. Another group is responsible for making
and finishing our proposed product because they’re the ones who’s knowledgeable
on how the product was produce. The last group is responsible for introducing and
delivering our product to the market. They’re the ones who helps find information
and opportunities on how to make our product more recognizable and play a huge
impact to the market.

The Philosophy

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle.
As a result, we are confident that our "Mushroom Coffee" will assist you in achieving
optimal health. Good health is vital because it adds to human happiness, which in
turn contributes to prosperity and wealth, which can improve economic
advancement. Aside from that, three distinct types of mushrooms are used. Our
consumers have the option of selecting the kind they want to purchase.

14
QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY

The Problem at Hand

These are some of the concerns that our clients especially coffee lovers may
face when using our "Mushroom coffee" if our product doesn’t contain caffeine, it is
not listed on our products package. In addition, mushroom coffee is more expensive
than other types of coffee. It may cost twice as much as regular coffee. They may
also experience the side effects of too much fiber, such as gas, bloating,
constipation, and stomach pain, but nothing dangerous.

The Solution

The purpose of mushroom coffee is to reduced caffeine usage by applying

alternative ingredients but will provide the same satisfaction while also being more
beneficial to people. This product also targets 2 sustainable development goals
which is the 3rd good health and well-being as well as 12th Responsible
Consumption and Production. The reason why we come up to this idea is
because the total coffee consumed in the Philippines in 2020 was about 3.3 million
60 kg bags. This reflects a long-term increase in coffee consumption over time and
proves that drinking coffee is in our blood as a Filipino but as we may know too
much caffeine, in particular, is harmful and might lead us in danger so we want to
make a product that’s healthier and safer than a usual coffee. Although this product
is quite expensive compare to any other type of coffees but it is worth to buy
because it has lots of benefits. Experts believe that mushroom coffee can help your
immune system by providing antioxidants. It also eases your stress and anxiety for
you to have a better sleep.

Vitamins and proteins are also helpful in strengthening immunity. Mushroom coffee
generally uses medicinal mushroom extracts rather than culinary mushrooms like
shiitake and portobello. However, the proposed health benefits of mushroom coffee,
including reduced anxiety and improved immunity, give it a marketing edge.

To make mushroom coffee, the fruiting bodies of the mushrooms are extracted
and made into an organic powder that’s free from fillers, carriers, and other additives,
through a dual extraction process, the mushrooms are then dehydrated, ground into
a fine powder, and mixed into ground coffee beans. This is usually done in a 1-to-1
ratio. Mushroom coffee can be prepared using the same methods as regular coffee
