Post Primary Certification Coding

Important Information
This packet contains the listing of all current X-Ray Lady courses to date that have been submitted and evaluated by the
ARRT for the purpose of obtaining structured education in the below listed post-primary categories. It is the
responsibility of the technologist to ensure that all requirements are met in order to establish eligibility to sit for any
post-primary examination administered by the ARRT.

According to the ARRT:

“Candidates for the post-primary certification and registration must meet clinical experience requirements before
signing the application for certification and registration. The requirements call for completing and documenting
specific numbers of repetitions for various procedures, which must have been completed during the 24 months
immediately preceding the application date. When clinical experience requirements are updated, candidates are
allowed a two-year grace period during which either the old or new requirements are acceptable.

Beginning January 1, 2016, candidates for post-primary certification and registration will also be required to
complete 16 hours of structured education related to the content outlines for that exam. Acceptable forms of
structured education include:
 Academic courses from an institution accredited by a mechanism recognized by the ARRT for an academic
degree,
 CE opportunities approved by a RCEEM or RCEEM+, or
 A combination of the two options.
Candidates will need to document at least one CE credit or its equivalent of structured education in each certification
and registration content category; the remaining hours may be distributed among any categories of the content
outlines.”

For more information, please visit the ARRT website by clicking here or contacting them via phone at (651) 687-0048.
For the Continuing Registration department, use extension 8540. For the Clinical Experience Requirements department,
use extension 8570.
