I. INTRODUCTION

This research, establishing mini wastewater treatment facilities, emphasizes the

investigation cleaning wastewater. Water is one of the important substance that Earth
have. If there is no water, there would be no life on Earth. The objectives of this
experiment, however, is to clean the water effectively with an inexpensively cost. The
experiment perform 3 treatments to test the clearness of the water and estimate the
how much the cost would be in adopting this treatment plant design.

II. OBJECTIVES
 To have low cost water filter
 To clean wastewater effectively using Mini wastewater Treatment Plants
 To measure the Turbidity of water using this Jackson Turbidity Unit (JTU)

III. MATERIALS
 For simulated wastewater  For Treatment Plants and design
 1 tbsp vegetable oil  2 liter clear plastic bottle
 2 tbsp liquid soap  Sand
 Tablespoon  Coffee filters
 1.5 liter of water  Activated charcoal
 1 tbsp Plastic beads  Pebbles
 1 tbsp coffee ground  Cotton mesh
 2 tbsp fertilizer  Grave
 2 tbsp sand
IV. METHODS

This experiment uses Jackson Turbidity Unit (JTU) for testing the turbidity or
clearness of liquid with the scale of 0 to 100 JTU. 0 meaning is the most clarity of
water.

Figure 1. JTU scale

V. DATA AND RESULTS

The team raised $1000 towards the design and construction of the Mini
Wastewater Treatment Plant. Three treatments were used to determine the turbidity
of a liquid, each with a unique treatment design.
Treatment 1. The result of this treatment had 50 JTU of Turbidity.

Treatment 2. The result of this treatment had 70 JTU of Turbidity.

Treatment 3. The result of this treatment had 40 JTU of Turbidity.

Using a low-cost treatment method, the material utilized in the first treatment was
cleaned and repurposed for the subsequent application.
VI. ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION

According to the acquired data and results, the execution of treatment revealed
that the "Treatment plant design 3" produced the clearest water with a turbidity of 40
JTU. Additionally, in this treatment, you will see that it was the least costly method of
purifying water, since the material was reused.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Water treatment is often required if surface water resources and, to a lesser extent,
groundwater supplies are to be made accessible for human use. Due to the fact that
the great majority of towns employ a single water distribution system for families,
industry, and fire protection, enormous amounts of water are often required to meet
the highest demand, which is typically drinking water. While it comes to general
treatment, the ideal substance to use when filtering water is sand and coffee. I
recommend Ceramic Water Filtration due to its low cost and high efficiency, as well as
to assure the entire removal of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa found in wastewater.
