Feb 19, 2021, It was Friday. In the evening a conflict raised between JU
students and neighborhood village named Gerua village. It was a dangerous
and serious issue for the country. I was not present at that place on that
certain moment but I was concerned. According to “Otherness” here is two
sides, as I am a student of Ju I am belong to “Us” and the neighborhood
village is played the opposition role so it is “Them”.

Due to pandemic university is closed since 17 march, 2020. Some student

stays in the gerua on rent for their various kinds of needs as always. This
time it was not different, but a conflict rose from a very simple matter as we
had seen on Newspaper, a cricket match was the main source of the conflict.

From our viewpoint, They attacked us like goons . They had spread rumors
to make propaganda against the students. That was life threatening as well
as disrespectful for us. Around 50 students were injured on that brutal
conflict. Certainly it turns into a riot between us and them. My friend, senior
and junior fellow students were got injured on that bloody mess. It was as
unwanted as unacceptable.

From Their view point, The villagers said to the news channels and to the
police that some political students of JU kidnapped some of the villagers for
money. The villagers also accused them for extortion and they also said that
those political students were extorting from them for years. At one point
when everything went out of control they were forced to take such a step.
Because they felt “other” and outsider in their own village for many times
for the torturing they faced by some political students. That is how all the
events resulted in a bloodshed riot.
