Gerund

Introduction
The gerund is a verb that functions as a noun referring to an action, a process or a state.

Form
Gerund consists of the base form of the verb and -ing.

Example
He is good at ballroom dancing.
She enjoys playing with her friends in the park.
Counting to ten is easy.
Reading the newspaper is important.
I like going to museums.
She is always listening to that song.

Use
We use the gerund as a noun referring to a state, a process or an action.

It is derived from a verb by adding the suffix “-ing” to make it into a noun.
